It's been like 5 years since I finished Log Horizon and I'm really fuzzy on A LOT of the plot and characters. I hope they release a recap or something coz binging both seasons is gonna be too much work.

nah after all this time you have to rewatch them, there's still time it's worth it believe me my friend.

Doubt it, just rewatch them, but if you can't, here's some of what I remember:

1) There's other servers and one is on the moon and implied to special somehow.
2) There are machines that can be used to communicate across servers.
3) The "taste" of weapons and armor are becoming reality.
4) Krusty is on the Chinese server and has Misa's severed arm with him.
5) Plant Hwyaden is becoming a problem that can't be ignored much longer.
6) The minds and bodies of player are being influenced towards their avatar bodies. Cross gender playing characters are becoming the gender of their avatar.

I remembered some other stuff:

1) Regarding #6, dying and resurrecting in a cathedral hastens this by taking away a fragment of memory from one's prior life.
2) The prevent abuses and slavery, Shiroe comes up with a scheme to get the money needed for Log Horizon to purchase the Guild House. However due the high upkeep costs it can't keep it for long.
3) To resolve #2, Shiroe convinced some guilds to engage in a near impossible raid in the underground depths to where the Kunie create gold and regulate the economy. Essentially a giant central bank loaded with more gold that one could ever need.
4) This forces the Kunie to negotiate with Shiroe, who to the surprise of the Kunie, leaves the bank intact in exchange for the Kunie agreeing to buy the Guild House (and other special buildings) from Log Horizon and take over the management and upkeep. This works because Shiroe knows that the Kunie can be trusted to not abuse their power, plus the good gesture may open the door for working with the Kunie in the future.

An additional note there was a rumor about the test serves was on the moon plus when the villain in glasses and the half size ninja died they were in the moon also.

I've ended up rewatching the show and I gotta say I'm enjoying it as much as I did when I first watched it. Currently on s2. I'm thankful for the plot points you guys mentioned as they do reiterate the major plot points, but there were a lot of smaller things I'd forgotten that I got to experience again for which I'm glad I rewatched. Even something like Marie's Kansai accent (10/10) as well as Nyanta and Serara's voice actors. When Shiroe announced he'd purchase the guild hall building, I was just as hyped now as I was 5 years ago. I thought I wouldn't be able to do it coz I'm past the point where I can easily binge anime, but I managed to binge s1 in a few days coz it actually kept me hooked.

Holy crap. Even as someone who has 3 episodes left, I think I'll still read up coz there was some lore stuff I wasn't able to grasp so this is great. Mad kudos to u/aniMayor.
