Can't say I'm impressed by the first episode. Its like Grimgar but with an edge lord MC, will give it a few more episodes

So I went into this series completely blind.

I did like it. Not love it, but there were a few things that piqued my interest. I thought it was a funny twist that the main protagonist got a farmer instead of something generic like a swordsman or something. The idea of "we only die if everyone does" is a bit new too-at least we know this isn't a total rip-off of SAO.

I am curious to see where this leads. Who knows I may be pleasantly surprised by it?

Generic isekai of the season but so far it looks better than the isekai of the smartphone and the MC is more likeable than Kirito (before someone says it yes I know that SAO is not an isekai)

It seems like a crossover between edgy/cliché isekai and darwin's game xD pretty bad first episode

Am I the only one who enjoyed this first ep too?
I think it looks pretty good. Pleasantly surprised by this, I don't really like isekai that much, but the hero looks interesting and the setting was funny. Good start, and apparently it gets better. I don't understand the 6.5 rating.

I don’t get the low score for this. I thought it was a decent episode and it seems to have potential. I wouldn’t say the animation really sucked either, so the score doesn’t make any sense to me.

I didn't really like it tbh. It was generic other than the MC being somewhat sinister but I doubt that would last. I'll probably give it another episode or two before I drop it.

This could be interesting. First of all there some kind of objective and something to work towards.
The way it's set up gives it potential for the characters to progressively get OP instead of the typical instant OP (only isekai's in the many I've read/watched that have done this are So I'm a Spider and Death Mage)

The MC has two routes he can become edgy loner power fantasy or actual character development with themes of how being an antisocial prick ain't a good way to live your life.

need some great advice from the elites or the manga reader is it worth it or nah

Manga plot is almost as good as Re Zero.
it will get better in 1 or 2 episodes. Its writer is especially, the same as that of the manga "my home hero" which is considered legendary by many.

-_- you better not be lying

re zero's in a different level but I guess I'll still watch it

it was fine for me...gonna be your generic isekai trash but some rules differ like you can get resurrected in a short while but if all of them are dead at the same exact time then game over...well let's see...
3/5.

I read the manga before the anime premiered, and tbh I like it a lot more than this first episode. I know Maho is a new studio, animation wasn't bad by all means bu some of the parts were just...WEIRD. Still gonna watch a few more episodes to see whether the anime is worth my time, but for now I'd say read the manga lol.

Was him being a psycho supposed to be some sort of grand revelation at the end? Because you quite literally started the bloody episode showing that side of him. Don't show the destination if you intend for the destination to be a mystery.

Also, show would be far better in it's cartoony style than in this bland "normal" artstyle.

I'll just name 3 good ones from the post-2010 isekai anime "boom":

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash - the one I think you might like the most.

Log Horizon - my personal favorite though it is a bit hit or miss.

Konosuba - mostly a parody series so it is not surprising.

Watched this a little later than everybody else so can't really comment on the cartoony style people talked about. Also went in completely blind, and I can definitely say I'll give it a few more episodes. Imo the bright art style does not fit the setting, it's like it tries to take itself seriously at times and fails. I did enjoy the ED song and the funny faceless guy that brought them into the world, though I can't understand why he is CG if he's staying still, weird design choice too. Characters feel bland as hell so far, but when are they not in an isekai that tries to resemble an RPG? *cough* BOFURI *cough* Also I don't get the people who compare this directly to Re Zero... In what kind of manner does this resemble Re Zero lol

What's with the ending the mc wants to level up but why he's giving a villainous smile and the part where the girl on the ground dies while a character fights from behind a monster really confused me what does that mean?

First of all, I just watched the first episode and nothing more...these are just my thoughts!
The mc is your typical anti-social type of main character who plays games all day...but when he plays them he has kind of an evil, bestial nature which you can see how he straight up wants to slaughter the boss, while not caring about the side characters (in the game)...and this scene was kind of used as an metaphor how now, that he is in a game-like environment, he can free his animallike nature and does the same with the rl girl (I forgot her name)
He is egocentric and puts all the weight on himself because he is, how I said it, anti-social and is not that type of person to trust other people and therefore often burdens himself because he thinks he is the only person capable of doing that...

It's not an anime,
without a beach episode.

Reading the synopsis I 100% thought this would be a farming isekai where the MC just goes off to make a farm or something. Glad I read a little more about it to give it a chance, I see potential here.

Hmm...didn't expect anything at first.

The artstyle is pretty cute, if not generic. The game-isekai troupe is also kind of everywhere now but the execution was done nicely. There seems to be something...unsettling tho.
That half-head dude was creepy.
The peaceful atmosphere there looks like a calm before the storm.

Annnnd yep! ..It's philosophical after all.
MC's personality was not unexpected, though it didn't lessen my pity for the girl.
I heard the anime is set to be 2cour, so maybe there'd be some character development? Oh well...looking at that opening and title made me feel like it's going to be a long journey, haha

Anyway, I'm in

Very very deeply surprised by how amazing the episode was. Not sure what I expected, but that defintely was tons of fun! I was interested throughout the episode, "oh what will happen next, oh what will he do, etc...", can't wait to watch more.

What I really liked especially was MC(Yotsuya), honestly can find a lot of similarities to him,

  1. Preferring to be alone
  2. That walk to school while being bored out of his mind during the summer season as well, god how much I felt him there
  3. He even has hots for Shindou who I found to be really really cute. Checking her out in the fashion magazine, thinking she is cute.
  4. Not having any plans for the future, unlike others, wanting to just go to the simplest college, doesn't matter where, being like "eh, whatever, that works" (just like me)
  5. not attending any clubs, just wanting to get home as soon as possible to play games lol

Man, I fucking love him, no hiding myself. I found Shindou to also be really nice, definitely seeing myself adding her to favorites in the future.

The whole isekai element was pretty nice, transferring to another world might not have been unique, but honestly who cares, it's not like those complaining can do that part any better. How else are they supposed to be transferred in that spot.

I like seeing that there was some reason for them 3 to be summoned, someone wanted them there, that's a nice story element. The man with half of a face, the world, the quests, everything sure looks mysterious.

Enjoyed seeing tough monsters (or maybe they were too weak), and goblins had some personality themselves which was amazing, I liked the goblin's face when Shindou was doing her darnest to blow him away with her wind magic lol. Troll looked hella scary and even ate her, that was totally unexpected, I really liked that. I was like: "yes finally some shit about to go down"

Also, really like that anime shows some elements that you otherwise won't see in an anime, like, I don't remember if I ever saw a heroine being eaten like that. They censored all the gore, cause that's probably not the focus of the anime, but still.

Oh and most importantly, single handedly most important part of me liking it, is how overwhelmingly dififcult everything seem to be for MC and others. They are super and I mean super weak, once in a while you'd go for a isekai hunt and all you'd see are overpowered MC who got lucky (her -> https://myanimelist.net/character/148316/Adele_von_Ascham?q=adele&cat=character) and think to yourself: "Can't we see someone who got UNLUCKY and struggles?" and we got it boys, we got it. I'm fucking 100% sure, author was in the same boat as all of us, wanting isekai protagonists to struggle their way up and we got it, we finally got it.

You know, say what you will about isekai anime usually having titles that explain the entire premise, but at least those tell you exactly what you're in for.

"I'm Standing on a Million Lives" and it's neat looking poster had me thinking this series might actually have some weight to it, but noooooooo. It's another bog standard boring isekai with a cast full of painfully bland characters and the same old wish-fulfillment RPG elements that only serve to make it even harder to take the situation seriously.

Like, the most interesting scene is when one of the girls nearly gets killed and the other gets eaten. They tease a tense 30 seconds of the last remaining hero trying to survive... and then they SKIP OVER IT. That was an opportunity to cement stakes and it was skipped over.

Even stranger, seeing as how at the end of the episode it's implied our protagonist will happily toss someone else under the bridge to save their own skin, it doesn't even make SENSE. Like, that apparently selfish protagonist is one of most interesting twists on the typical formula this show has to offer, but they already showed they plan to be half hearted about it so...

...Wait, you're telling me a version with a unique art style exists??? Is it just the first episode???? Because if it was the entire series that might make me continue it. It'd beat this emotionless stuff anyway.

Oh god ..the Game master is in terrible cgi ..oh and he looks like a weirdo

Got the feeling that our edgy main character farmer Yotsuya will end up dying a million times hence the 'I stand on a million lives'. Not impressed so far but lets see if it'll get better.

This was actually a pretty impressive start. Between Yotsuya being relegated to a farmer & the whole "deaths are safe until they aren't", this is already defying the vision of what I had begun to expect based on the first scene. I'm especially interested in seeing how this isekai adventure ties into their own world, particularly because of how warped & jaded Yotsuya is.
