There's already an absurd level of comedy with a tooth stealing vampiric psychopath with zebra henchmen, but the dialogue has also been hilarious. Junko's earlier:
It'll be trouble with a capital T as in teeth!

And now Zero's ability to crack a joke when the ante was upped and the series was as dark as ever:
ha… what am I, a shark?

A quiet, stone-faced, cool man with a heart of gold playing poker, I couldn't help the Jotaro vibes. Now seeing him dunk on an eccentric villain with a composed and funny line like that, it got a huge laugh out of me. This has been so strange and so funny.

I will say however, by making the stakes so ridiculously high, the majority or all of Zero's teeth, it has in effect made the stakes null. This is a case where less is more. If zero would only lose one tooth for instance, I would be genuinely nervous. Fukumoto showed us that he is unafraid to depict the gruesome details twice! Losing one tooth wouldn't change anything, my man could even get it replaced. That is so possible, but then to make the stakes so excruciatingly high, it's now off the table. I was no longer nervous in any sense. I feel this was also done in the first part by making it so, say, in the finger gamble, not only would he lose a finger, but he would also be disqualified if he lost.

I don't see a great purpose in this, but I suppose it makes Zero all the cooler and relieves our tension to make the series more fun. Maybe that's why.
