I think one of Morita’s characteristics is looking down on other people whom he doesn't think live good lives. He criticizes the rich explicitly numerous times, he mocked the brother as useless trash for being unable to kill him, but he does believe in redemption and he’s not excessively cruel; outside of bankrupting scumbags, he intentionally walks the line of his morals. It’s a nice line to walk honestly, a lot of variety. In this case, for Morita to tell the family that his job was escaping with Hidemine and if they want to fight they can do it themselves on their own time was very cool. Big d*ck energy as the kids put it!

But then something unexpected happened. Or perhaps not for me, I have heard too many things about this arc for it to have ended here, but I did not have any guesses to how this would get even bigger. And honestly, as dark as this is, I couldn't help but burst out into laughter upon seeing the massacre the super hit man left behind. Perhaps it's laughter out of shock, as I’ve mentioned in the Aiga arc, Fukumoto doesn't like killing people on the page very often, I had never seen it in a grotesque way within his work until then! Yet to have this super hitman, a vigilante I can only imagine is similar to the Punisher despite knowing nothing about that character, splattering a man's skull and writing a message of intent in blood… It's so extreme and over-the-top and gory and dark and a thing that crosses a line that Fukumoto really doesn't usually venture into. It was the shock of the situation that had me losing my mind!!! It’s like, this is the second bloody massacre we’re seeing and while already dark and shocking, it’s cartoonish in a way! This dude did a Kenshiro point and stated that true hell is yet to come…

That said, the new plotline has begun. Morita’s job is still to keep Hidemine safe, but now he's up against an enemy more fearsome in combat than Aiga or the three brothers. I find this cool because it employs two of the most exciting writing conventions at the same time. We have the sudden and unexpected boss battle, and we have the alliance of former enemies due to circumstance!!! Other interesting points outside of that: it’s the product of the previous plotline, the characters share the same injuries they received, and the weapons that were sent off are gone for good. We are in the same area we have gotten to know as long as they don't change floors and finally, another question of escape or fight has emerged. Let’s do this!!!
