goddamn principal so useless lmao, ofc there just had to be a teacher that stole the photo (and it looks like Kiriya caught on)

and lol something about journalists of all people talking about how information is more important than money is pretty funny

but thank goodness that journalist dude got the tables turned against him (especially after he went and spent all that money he got acting all pompous and shit).

but oooo boy the lovely long awaited Tanabe and Hina reunion....

Holy shit it was s m o o t h
Great job, Hina!
Oh and btw why keeping the picture in the first place? I am not saying "it was quite irresponsible of him to keep it in locker where ANYONE could have taken it", I am saying "why don't just get rid of the photo?"

I'm a little eh on that chapter. Hopefully Okunugi isn't done yet, because to be honest, I would say that if the drama just ended here, it would've been pretty pointless. Hopefully something like Okunugi decides to just post it online or some shit. At least then it would seem like there was some kind of actual 'drama' going on. Nevertheless, if this chapter ended everything, I'd be disappointed because the first chapter of this volume got my hyped as fuck for it (with the return of Tanabe, and the potential drama upcoming).

I'm not sure if there's time left for it. Just think about it- there should be a chapter with about Hina talking to Tanabe, probably Hina talking to Natsuo about her feelings, there should be a wedding, maybe birth of a child and probably flashback into married life of Natsuo. And how many chapters left exactly? I just don't see this conflict go any further. It's done and it's done for good.

What was even the point of this entire conflict for it to end within two chapters? Seems needless. At the end of the day, this manga can’t end without some sort of resolution between Natsuo and Hina where they both let their feelings out.

It’s even been foreshadowed when Tougen sensei told Natsuo “the girl should’ve saved her monologue for the end”

The last year and a half of reading this manga has been nothing short of horrible for my mental health and anxiety. Hina’s been through the ringer with seemingly no pay off and at this point idec if she gets with Natsuo. He doesn’t even deserve her. I just want her to be happy. Not happy being a simp on the sidelines watching Rui and Natsu, but genuinely happy on her own.

Hina's like:

Also why did the school even hold onto that picture all these years. Natsou had already graduated from there and Hina quit teaching, and Natsou is now a legal adult so if he and Hina got together again there is nothing the school can do about it.

I dunno about that. Is this really the last volume for Domekano? I haven't checked, but finishing it out in this volume would make the story even more rushed than Food Wars. I can't imagine Sasuga Kei bringing all the hype to this drama, and making it fall flat literally 4 chapters later. Pretty sure there's a little bit more to it, but hey, you might be right. We'll just have to wait and see for ourselves.

It's just my opinion but I think we're done with that particular drama. Yeah, a bit anti-climatic, but the author decided to finish the series and there's too much more important stuff to cover than Journalist's Revenge lmao.

If my math is correct, we're mid-final volume.
Vol.26 contains chapters 246-255.
Vol.27 will probably contain chapters 256-265.
And vol.28 is the last one, 266-269 are already released, 270-275 left + maybe some extra. 6 or 7 more chapters.

yep this is the last volume, roughly ~6 chapters remaining (only an estimate though)

thank God the conflict did not last any longer than it should have.

Hina did brilliantly this time. I thought she was a bit reckless like some of the previous incidents by acting alone, but it was smart of her to record and ask for help from Reiji and the principla. Now it's time to bring down Tanabe for good.

Happy ending for Rui x Natsuo, Hina and our protagonists coming!

I don’t wanna be a downer but even if this arc is short, i’m happy they did address Hinas actions with a student. I know it’s a very popular trope to be written in manga. but i have to appreciate that reminder that all of it. regardless of their mutual feelings. was wrong.
unless someone wants to correct me but natsuo was a minor during their affair.
regardless of how hung up she is now, or full of regret she is now. we honestly should have been praising her since she left him, she’s done everything right since. i don’t really want him to end up with her, i think this route is honestly the best for him. i’ve read countless manga where a young teen gets with a teacher and id forget it mattered and support the relationship but honestly none of that material is okay. (also i was drawn to those books bc i was in that kind of situation with someone myself) especially when they all end with the parents forgiving the pedophilia and letting the couple stay together. i appreciate the change of pace. you disagree that’s fine.

I know right? This manga has been pretty heavy on my mental health as well, but i did enjoyed it until chapter 216 (the breaking up fiasco), until then i thought of rui as a really good character, even when i felt really bad for all the shit hina had to go trough i tought that rui had done enough to deserve everything she had, but just like that she threw it all away for very selfish reasons and it made me realize just how forgiving sasuga kei is with rui and how much she likes to make hina suffer and i dont like that kind of writing because it does not go anywhere, hina could have grown just as much as a character without all the bulshit sasuga kei makes her go trough, the worst of all is that in previous chapters she gave so much exposition on hina strugle that i tought she had something going for her, but just like that she played one of the most bulshit cards that any writer can pull..... the freaking pregnacy card!!! and with a really cheap move "freaking old condoms"!!! i just cant get behind that, it just pisses me off and it sets in stone that hina just would never have the end she wishes for the most, she will never be trully happy even if f***ing sasuga kei gives her a bullshit boyfriend or if she goes back to f***ing shuu, because she only loves natsu and she worked her ass up for his love (unlike rui), and thats why i´ve started to hate a manga that i used to love because it is so unfair with a character that is so lovely and selfless just because. Is unnerving to me how everithing has been so freaking hard for hina since chapter 1, and for rui everything is served on a silver plate, i hate it.

Sorry for the long post, i had it bottled up :(

All I want out of the series right now is a proper ending. I do really want Natsuo to be paired with Hina but let's be real here,I dont'see it happening. The only way that would happen is if by some fat chance Rui dies ( which I would hate) or it turns out that Rui isn't pregnant at all. But if the author will continue on with Rui being pregnant and eventually she and Natsuo get married, I just hope to see Hina and Natsuo pouring out their feelings for one another in the end. Yes, it may be to late for Hina to win him back but atleast she's gonna be able to pour out what she's been bottling up for such a long time. Yes, Hina deserves to be happy but she made a decision to put Rui's and Natsuo's happiness before her own. The consequences, she doesn't get the man she loves. Right now, I'm waiting for the resolution of Hina and Natsuo's relatonship. I final " I love you " from both of them and maybe a final kiss. I hope the author can deliver. Btw does a new chapter come out every two weeks? I'm really hyped for the ending.

I share the same sentiment. You both said it all! IMO, as much as I want Hina happy after all her hardships, I honestly don't mind if she ends up with Kiriya-sensei. I think he's a good fit for her since he's been helping her throughout the story, has no bad history with her, and is a writer as well. I'll be pissed if Hina ends up with Shuu or Natsuo at this point.

On another note, Hina was badass in this chapter!! It was oh, so satisfying to read! She basically just saved Natsuo's career and marriage without him knowing it!

The manga has to end at this point. I can't watch Home girl suffer anymore. Let the fool and the selfish b**** get together, cause they're both cut from the same cloth. Just hope Hina gets a good ending.

I have said on past discussions slugg that it would end lowkey with the news never getting spread seeing what happens in chapter 73 and i was 100% right. I will repeat what i said here but it would be the same thing of Hina going to declare a war in NYC and doing nothing, drama for the sake of drama as always.

People are seeing that as a Hina character development lol, that is laughable. the author is just throwing things out of the blue that will not construct any real drama. She lost a long time ago her power as a drama writer unfortunately.

Only a few chapters left (supposedly) -- But is this really the end for this drama? The journalist is probably losing his job, he spent all of his money on all sorts of stuff so is probably in immense debt and will probably put the blame on Natsuo/Rui/Hina. I feel he'll probably do something to stir shit up like physically attack them or something in the lines of.

I really do hope we get some closure for characters and not have some last-minute drama where Natsuo suddenly ends up with Hina just to f*ck over reader one last time.

Just caught up after a few marathon sessions of reading. Really glad this issue got resolved, Natsuo certainly didn't need another book release dampened by the news, but of course even better for everyone involved. I wonder how Hina and Tanabe's conversation will go down.

Exactly. Ditto.

Hina is confronting her past. She's facing her attacker, which is an emotionally difficult thing to do. Last is to inform Natsuo of her remaining feelings.
If this is going to end within less than five chapters, there is not enough page length left to see Hina get a happy ending, unless she runs back to Shuu. Running back to Shuu would be anticlimactic, and Shuu has done nothing to win back Hina's affection. Therefore, she can either live a supportive aunt/sister-in-law life, or she can seek to find a new love (always knowing for the sake of the happiness of her savior, that she left the best one get away). The only thing that will bring Natsuo back into her loving embrace, would be the death of her sister (which is stated above by another reader, and stated by myself in the last chapter's discussion page), and that is not an outcome Hina would wish to fall upon her sister. Moreover, I strongly doubt that Rui or Hina, or their parents, would be supportive of a sister-wives polyamorous relationship with Natsuo.

The best ending, if it is to end within five chapters, is for Hina to make her peace, be the maid of honor to Rui. At the wedding we will see all the literature club, at the reception, in happy relationships (even Kiriya-sensei bringing Ashihara as his date). For Natsuo to continue to write, and his new family move into his mentor's former home. For Rui to have a complication free birth, and after an appropriate-length maternity leave return to her budding profession.

I have a bad feeling about this. Although it was really great to see Hina on the attack, so firm and resolved, I have a bad feeling about her 'lying' about not having done anything with Natsuo. Even if she did it to protect him and Rui, even if it was true from a perspective of love and her heart and their relationship, I don't think the law would agree with that...

I couldn't agree more. I had to drop the manga for a while because it was affecting me negatively mentally to the point where I was afraid that it could become dangerous. I never hated Rui or how Natsuo ended up with Rui. I just couldn't take seeing Hina suffer so much despite all she's done. In the end, I just want her happiness, even if it is without Natsuo.

Well there you have it, it seems obvious now but I really didn't see a way for Hina to get the magazine from not publishing it. But I guess all that needed to be done was complaining to the manager, and for the fat journalist to screw everything up. Well played Hina and Kiriya!

Anyways, the journalist still has the photos, and he has the info about Natsuo marrying Rui. Why not just leak it to 2chan or whatever imageboard Japan uses? It could be a very nasty rumor with photo-evidence, at least. He could still do quite a bit of damage... Hah, well, I suppose he'd be afraid of the cops showing up at his door. Damn, and here I wanted some chaos...
