| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- After what looks to be two years, there is a new chapter of Shinjuku Swan at this long awaited and horrendous cliffhanger. When my friend told me it was up, I got so excited. However, it looks like we’re not off the hook yet. Taki was ahead of everything, and this is the second time if I recall correctly in which Taki has surrounded the defenseless cast with cars. This time I’m especially eager to see Hayama and how he deals with this, he’s a very different type than Seki. He’s weasley rather than headstrong and barreling forward. And since when do we see him in such a rough situation? I think the closest to this was that time Morinaga nearly killed him! And he does not have advantage here. Or does he? He has a complex relationship with Taki and although he likely went behind his back here, Taki may still want control over Hayama... Yousuke seemed completely out of it, only ever awakening for that brief moment in the last chapter when he saw Hayama. I wonder if everything Alice did got through to him. She’s quite the character isn’t she. The translation stated that she loved Yousuke, and here it stated that she was “in love” with Taki. I liked how she was compassionate towards Yousuke, refusing anger and blame, and how strong she was to put herself on the line to protect him and see them off by saying she will probably never see Yousuke again. Talk about unconditional love. Truthfully, I remember the events of Yokohama although they are not exactly chronological or detailed, but as I was already rereading through the manga now in anticipation for a new translation continuing the series; I should speed back up as I get through it. |
