| This little flashback arc is precisely why I started reading Vigilantes, since Aizawa is definitely one of my favourite characters. Nothing amazing, but a pretty solid flashback, I rather like that Shirakumo's death was kind of just like, standard hero work fare. Like granted, that was a powerful villain, but it wasn't no grand heroic sacrifice so-to-speak, he did save the kids but it was kind of sudden and not big. The whole thing with Aizawa hearing him encourage him on was pretty nice, and I liked how Aizawa's "the being soaked fits my mood" thing at the very beginning of the flashback was sort of bookended with Yamada's "This fits our vibe" at the end, the panels of sad Yamada were really well done. This little wrap up chapter was nice too, it was nice to Aizawa start dolling out teacherly advice to Sensoji and in present day, that those two were factoring in Aizawa to their layout plans with the seating plans and such, considering how much they complained about him making his base of operations theirs. |
