He essentially fought fire with fire and it worked out for him until Kaiba had a vision of him losing Mokuba and his younger self being angry that he allowed that to happen. Instead of doing something, Kaiba loses his turn and Yugi has a chance to attack. Using the Celtic Guardian, Yugi is able to chop off one of the dragon's heads. With Kaiba's defeat being imminent, he pulls out some bitch tactics and backs up to the edge of the castle walls and challenges Yugi to attack him to test Yugi's resolve to see whether or not he'd kill him to win the match. I'm disappointed in you Kaiba. This was too low, even for you. Disgraceful. I'm glad Yami Yugi was willing to attack and was going to until normal Yugi came out and stopped him. That was also disappointing. In doing so, Kaiba was able to attack Yugi and win the duel. That was some bullshit tho. Kaiba and Yugi acted like a couple of little bitches here.
