THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Hey, it's not bad this interpretation. I really like it. It's fast paced.

Hard to believe but I already had some of those ideas in my mind before this series came out! For example the Black Saints being a variant of the Steel Saints after seeing a couple episodes focused on them in Omega (steal/make steel armor had more sense than some random complex plot like alchemists from the past just to form 4 carbon-copy-bronze armors just for the plot). Another idea is about a false Athena (like he Santuary movie) to fool the rest of the saints should be a better alteranive instead the "Believe me guys! Athena is just behind those curtains!" from the original, so I really liked that they implemented that thing of the "dark prophecy" to give a reason to be against the real Athena. Last but not least the idea of "no gods, just humans" that also came from Omega is kinda implemented in that military dude, I was thinking to be a good excuse for Saga because after all that stuff of the evil conterpart in those recents mangas/spin-offs is screwing his character and making him look like "I want to conquer the world because I'm generic and because I can".

I like the spanish dub keep the original names of the characters! I was already making my mind to avoid to be confused when I read that they gonna change the names like "Seina" instead of Saori.

My main personal complain is that the galaxian wars part was not epic as I wanted to see, I understand that is undercover for the "the saints shouldn't use it for personal stuff" but come on! the stage is very bland! At the anime there was a ring, lights, the cheering of the public! (a clandestine public would for this case), a locutor, etc. It was more enjoyable to watch that part in the anime. At least they did not rush/skip Seiya vs Shiryu.

ooh right about this episode, looks that is the end of the Phoenix and is now teasing us the arc of the silver saints.... BECAUSE THE REST OF THE EPISODES ARE NOT OUT YET! It's a bummer, unless they want to improve the quality.

I like the series, since this is half of a season, I'm expecting the next 6 episodes to dig more into the lore. This was pretty fine to watch, it's not AOTY but it's good, it works so far and it's easy to watch. I hope they deliver the next episodes before december.

Omega wasn't the one to come up with the ''no gods, just humans'' concept. The original one already had that.
In both the original manga or in the first anime Evil Saga stated that the reason why he wanted to kill Athena and take her place is because he didn't consider her suitable to protect the Earth against the wrath of Poseidon,Hades and Zeus.

Basically Vander(the military dude in this remake) is a cheap rip off of Evil Saga from the original so Netflix hasn't done anything special with that.

At least they did not rush/skip Seiya vs Shiryu.

Are you kidding me?They rushed it so much to the point that it became freaking boring. They didn't even include the scene in which Seiya tricks Shiryu to break his shield. Also they didn't explain how the hell Seiya managed to find Shiryu's weakness.

Sorry my bad, what I tried to add with that concept is that most of of the evil doings in the Sanctuary arc came from the evil part of Saga, which originally is a representation the two sides of Saga (two personalities but still the same person) but now that the new series/mangas like Saintia Sho and Saint Seiya Origins are trying to separate the evil one from the good like two different persons in one body, making to lose weight his redemption in the Hades arc because tecnically is not the fault of the good Saga. If both sides had a same objetive like taking over the sanctuary but clashing the methods of doing it then even if the evil side is gone, the good one would still feel bad of that he done in the past, leading to prove his royality to Athena in the Hades arc.

Seiya's almost suicidal attack is just stupid, I'm glad it's out of this remake, and it is quite explained how Seiya saw the weakness, he quickly observes Shiryu's move, it makes him smarter. And honestly, unless you're a 10-year-old kid watching it for the first time, that fight is easily the most boring one in the whole series.

I enjoyed this reboot a lot more that I thought I would! It's really entertaining... The only thing that was quite... hmmm... ''stupid'' and cringy was the part of the power of friendship when they take out the bad guys... like literally 20 minutes ago they all hated each other telling the others that they will kill them in the bronze knights tournement. lol I really doubt that they create a strong bond in those 20 minutes lol but other then that good reboot and nice little time killer!

Personally, many parts of this remake disappoint me. The writing in particular, seems to dilute the charm of the story/franchise.

With that said, final episode (so far) does show tremendous improvement. Despite baffling elements (power of pffttt... friendship), it's clear the Gold Saints will be the remake's saving grace. Each of their entrance (even cloth-less Muu and void Aiolos) significantly amp up the stake and appeal.

Of course, next is the Silver Saint arc. Which is concerning, cause things can go awry instead (Shiryu blinding himself to fight Perseus Algol? Probably won't happen). Here's hoping they won't cram the Sanctuary Arc into the next 6 episodes. Each Gold Saint deserve their own separate episode (S02 then? Hmmm... assuming the show gets renewed)

Power of friendship was really laaaaame

It's a fine reboot, I grew up with the original but I don't know if I have the patience to watch it again (and disappoint myself lol)

It was funny when the purple haired guy started flapping his arms before every attack.

Why are there only 6 episodes? I thought Netflix animes released all the episodes at once. Or, is this the whole season?

The power of friendship is invincible! The most shounen-like episode so far because of this theme being present, haha.

I liked how Virgo Shaka was portrayed in the show.
