Not often do I shed tears whilst watching anime, but this episode sure did it. Also, did I hear Swedish singing in this episode? If so, definitely a little odd for a Japanese anime, but it definitely fit in well.

The reveal of Rifana's skeleton was done pretty well, I think. Quite a touching episode in general. At least Keel and two other demihumans survived, so I assume they were being fed enough to at least keep them alive beforehand.

Also had to laugh a bit at the evil guy summoning tyrannosaurus demon and getting crushed by it within a few seconds. Giant uncontrollable monsters aren't known for being all that friendly.

We get Raphtalia's backstory and how she is who she is. She is strong willed despite the sadness.

That stupid heartless evil Lord deserved all he got.

The story of this episode is so brutal, before we only knew that Raphtalia was enslaved, I thought she had reached the beach and been found, but it never crossed my mind that she had to go through enormous pain right after regaining her hope, torture endlessly, the sound of her friend going through the same thing was distressing, and with all of this she still kept a smile on her face... and lost it some time later, fortunately she faced all of this, she stood up and with Naofumi she Can smile again.

Hey we get to see more in depth of Raphtalia's past and does it feel saddening to see her backstory and fudge that fat slave owner guy who tormented her. Cliffhangers are fun to say the least.

Damn that was tragic, Rifana's corpse being left just like that until there was nothing.

This is probably my favorite episode in an Isekai anime because it gave me the kind of feels that you normally wouldn't get from the genre.

Also they actually had the guts to kill off a character and show that not everything works out in the end. This would never happen in a more mainstream anime.

The next time someone tells me that Isekai is just wish fulfillment and fanservice. I point to this episode.
