| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- decided to check the anime in consideration of the wrestler, Jushin Thunder Liger's, reitrement tour, i must say it started off on a cool note. love that it is as cheesy as you expect from an 80s product. only issue for me is that Ken adapted to Liger quite fast and his crush got wasted too quick for me to care for his motivation |
| A very straightforward start for a shounen anime. It's actually refreshing that they did not waste any time in presenting the setting. The bio-armors and battles are clearly inspired by the likes of Ultraman and giant robot battles from Super Sentai (Liger's sword and shield even resembles the ones from Sentai, lol). For a tokusatsu fan like me this is great news. The enemies also resembles the ones from Super Sentai, with a menacing leader, cool looking generals and their elaborated lair bases. Doll Amy doesn't even moves his mouth when speaking, as if he was actually using a rubber suit, lol Overall this first episode was very good. Liger's design is awesome and I'm interested to see where this is going, specially with the two cute waifus that appeared at the end. Poor Yuki, thought. |
