| As my interpretation of things go, in as unbiased a way as possible. Chiho as always is in love with Maou but it's very clearly one sided as it has been since the beginning. Everyone including maou respects her a lot as a person of course but thats the extent of it. As an example there is a point where a coworker expresses his jealousy at having someone(Chiho) who is so clearly into him, and while he mentally thinks of all the rational reasons why he can't reciprocate these feelings, he further realizes there's something more to it than just those reasons that he can't fully understand yet (which in my opinion coincide with his conflicted feelings about Emi). Emi is finally starting to warm up to maou, no longer bearing a grudge on him and starting to actually exhibit what could be called a base form of feelings for him, he has also noticed this and is sort of conflicted at his own emotions. It's obvious this is the main relationship that's been building from the start, but knowing their history it took a lot of volumes to even reach the start line. Rika and Ashiya is pretty much bound to happen, she knows everything at this point and still likes him regardless, with her personality she's more concerned about the embarrassing things she said while she was clueless about their situation. Sariel is still after Kisaki's heart but who knows if he'll ever get there. At least he's steadfast. Suzuno seems to like Maou to an extent but i think that's largely miss-interpretation by people, i think it's more she's starting to become more conscious as a woman considering it's something she's never bothered with before, and knowing maou and his open personality, his comments are mostly what she's had to react to. As far as in text hints go however, without any interpretation, she has developed feelings for him regardless. Especially since she is the only person he's shared a lot of the true reasons behind his past actions to. As for my biased interpretations; I believe Suzuno and Lucifer have shared their fair share of moments of mutual respect and have a decent relationship going. It seems to me like there's potentially something that will proceed between them in the future. As a side note: I'm not completely caught up yet (Volume 12 as of now), and will update it as I go along. Updated below up to volume 17 |

| In Volume 13 (the latest officially translated book as of writing this) Chiho reconfesses to Maou, and while he still doesn't have an answer for her, he was less distant than during the 1st confession. It's also stated she's the most important person to him, after Ashiya. Ashiya also comments that he's not against it if Maou and Chiho end up getting together. PS: It's briefly mentioned and hinted a few times, that Maou has little to no grasp over how romantic love works |
| I think eventually Emi and Maou are gonna end up together, feels like canon but I would be SO happy if Chiho ended up with Maou. There's just something about Maou finding love in another world and not with someone from their world. |

| Updated to volume 17. Also to reiterate what someone else mentioned. Maoh has almost no grasp on romantic love, not so much that he's dense and doesn't notice it, he just genuinely doesn't understand it making it impossible for him to feel it. The same could be said for Ashiya and the rest of the demons or even angels. They're from different types of worlds and have lived for a long time without this idea existing in their lives. Chiho's love still seems one sided. She has confessed multiple times to no avail so far, she does have some impressive feats that he marvels at though. At the same time it's really not clear so anything can happen, just doesn't feel like he thinks of her that way or ever will. She does manage to fluster him sometimes though. Emi has started to actually exhibit feelings for him, and he continues to notice and now openly point out her weird behavior which she accepts at this point. It's being built up but knowing their history and their current predicaments the pace is slow at best. They have had a lot of moments though, if you wanna be spoiled specifically i'll list them below. Rika and Ashiya seems bound to happen. For spoiler details click the box. Sariel is actually quite genuinely devoted, to the point where he knows exactly what he's in for along with how she feels for him, and accepts all of it. He just wants to keep trying to get there, even if she may never love him back (or even stop hating him for a start). Suzuno's feelings seem to die down significantly as the volumes progress, I really didn't think they were significant to begin with. There's one or two moments where it's hinted that they may still exist, but she's more team Chiho if anything. As for my biased interpretations; Suzuno and Lucifer has had no further progress so it might be dead. RIP. |
