why is it called gilgamesh?

I read the synopses and the char list, the kinf of uruk isnt even listed as a character

does this show even have anything to do with the king. why is this called that>?

Necroposting but still.
In short: this anime series loosly based on Gilgamesh manga by Ishinomori Shotaro. There is some characters like Tatsuya, Kyoko and Gilgamesh. Tatsuya in manga is just a teenager without super powers. Gilgamesh is literally clone of ancient king. And there is twelve clones at least. Also at least on scene directly adopted in anime: when Kyoko and Tatsuya enters house and meets one of the Gilgamesh. And took a look at salamanders.
