Lol, an episode that talks about prom. They got the logic behind that right though.

I will say this though. They didn't promote that "anti-prom" petition well at least based on the reception lol. This episode still turned out to bes slightly more violent than I had expected. However, it still had the usual drama/comedy.

Those yearbook photos though. That's a trip down memory lane. Kinda crazy how far some characters go to use Anthem for their own reasons.

I feel like Maxine is a LGBT-magnet character so other characters (especially Doug & Kirill) can stay within 'yaoi bait' line. But I'm still glad that her backstory is fully explored in this episode.

Very nice episode, it's sad how looks are valued so much and how it can drive some people too far, nice backstory for Maxine.

Good episode!

Maxine’s backstory was harsh as expected. Proms and such events do indeed involve classes and such, and this was well exploited in this episode. I didn’t think her significant one would leave her though and that too with drugs and such(possibly even Anthem). Nice conclusion to the episode though, she has definitely saved someone from going through Connor’s experiences.

This was my favourite episode. I already really loved that this anime had a male protagonist that wore purple, but now my love has increased even more. The trans character wasn't a joke. She also wasn't sexualised. It was shown in such a respectful way.

The dance party at the end had girls dancing with girls, and Doug's old partner with Kirill's brother. Later, the two brothers were also dancing together. It was so cute! I kind of ship Maxine and the Robot, but it's sad that the latter is a robot. I wonder if Doug was resting or if he had been dancing with his old partner as well.

Kirill in a suit was kind of hot.

Poor Kirill still hasn't realised that Doug has trolled him. lol!

I found a subtitle error. Kirill's brother says Kirill was popular in school in the subtitles. It confused me so much as his brother wouldn't really know that, would he? I listened to the Japanese version repeatedly, and I think his brother says Kirill was popular as a realisation that he's close to the people of Seven O.

well said! This show really has great respect toward the LGBT community. The dance party at the end was cute, love how their dance pairings do not have any regard to gender, and everyone just casually paired up and had fun dancing.

As for subtitle, I think you are right about the error after checking the Chinese subtitle, which i can understand, at bilibili(anime streaming service in china)

Ah, finally an episode where Max's past was revealed. I was waiting for one to come along.

There's just one part I have a disconnect with.

So, you're telling me that Connor, who ended up coming out as trans just before the prom, told Max ,"Do you know what would really make me happy? If we strut to the prom with me in a dress, and you in a suit. That would be great. Nothing bad would happen at all."

Turns out, everything bad imaginable happened, with drugs as added interest.

Max being lesbians with Robot didn't seem out of place due to her tomboyish nature. Kirill's "sister" crossdressing was a bit of a stretch, but I passed it off as nothing serious.

But this? This is too much, man. Come on.

Other than that, though, good high school episode. Felt like a slice of Totally Spies for a bit there.

I have mad respect for Max after watching this episode. It takes a lot of guts to go against convention and she really stood by her friend. Overall, it was a very good episode but I am a bit sad that we didn't get to see Doug and Krill dance.
