| Holding a six year old grudge in an MMORPG is pretty hardcore. I mean, imagine hating someone in a game so much that when the game's services is terminated, and a sequel is released six years later, you'd round up your buddies to create new characters to hopefully gank them, assuming they even made new accounts themselves. Also, is Re-Union R-18? They actually had nudity, and even if the critical parts were visually blurred or something, that's pretty intense for a game that seemingly allows grade school kids to play as well. On the same thought, the instant equipment destruction is a pretty crazy skill. I'm not sure how you'd balance that in a real MMO. As a side, I've always wondered if players are asleep or conscious while playing ARPGs in these types of anime. I'd like to imagine players screaming and swinging around a lot in real life, leaving their families confused and annoyed. If they're asleep, then I wonder how in-game time flows compared to the real world. It must be pretty bad to be put into a semi-comatose state for extended periods of time per day. Lastly, empaths are just a thing? It's common knowledge that there's the ability to read minds in-game? That's really insane to be able to digitize thoughts and have them readable for the purposes of a video game. It would take things like lie detectors in real life to crazy new levels with a lot of moral and ethical implications. These thoughts aren't really important in terms of the anime's story, but they're brought up oddly nonchalantly as if they were givens. |
