Hmm, having the refugees travel with the army seems like a risky move. However, it doesn't seem they have much of a choice with the resources they have at the moment.

As expected, Jinzaburou faces off against the The Mongolian army in the mountain regions. I loved Jinzaburou's strategy this episode though in particular when they managed to trap the Mongols together in that hole. Really clever move.

By doing so, they can lower the body count on their own side and strike down the Mongols.

So the forums are back and my very first spot is asking myself why this very well accomplished series "only" has 7.20 which is pretty mediocre for the standards of MAL. Is it the lack of teenage characters? The lack of self insert kun or fanservice? I'm genuinely baffled.

I agree that this anime is a definite must watch. It's a shame that most people haven't given it a chance. I do admit that I'm a sucker for historical anime. This fills my Kingdom withdrawals.

Jinzaburou's back story was so fascinating. It's interesting to see how it shaped his war strategy skills in the present.

"A general doesn't worry about the meaning of a battle in the middle of a fight. That's the job of a poet." This quote really tickled my fancy 👏

So far I love this anime! It's criminally underrated right now

I could use a Jinzaburou in my life to give to show me the way forward. I love a good anti-hero and how the show wonderfully balances heartbreak and heroism.

the art style is suppopsed to be like that ''oldish'' style . If it was like a modern anime you couldnt get in the mood . I personally love it

I don't get it either. I've seen some people complaining about the art style but hey, that's one of the greatest points on this anime. I really like the way it looks and can't understand why people think it looks weird.

It's amazing how quickly this anime lost its steam. It's been going downwards since episode 3, to the point where there's barely any properly animated fight scenes anymore. I guess the studio only put an effort for the first two episodes. I'm not gonna stick around to find out just how bad it gets. Dropped.

Great episode, now we know how he became a prisioner.
Honestly, the art-style was a little weird when i saw the first episode, i think it's because of the filter and a little of the art-style but now i got used to it and it's not that bad. I love historic animes like this one.

Glad to know one of those guys who were complaining every week about this show decided to dropped it... man, what a way to draw attention.

Good episode, it was nice to know a little more about the backstory of Kuchii-dono. And I'm also glad that his way of thinking could reach out to Abiru. Sadly, his last lines certainly raised a death flag all over his head. However, if he had to die, I hope him to do it with no regrets.

Looking forward to the next episodes. I hope they can resist until the help comes.
