I have two questions for the readers of the source material that kind of bug me about this and may be explained (better) in the novel:
1. I know that he is unkown because he never did any commercial stuff and won most of his stuff before the game got that popular, but for me it still makes little sense that nobody seems to know his face, especially when he played on this stage before and was chosen to duel there. Did they not have cameras back then?

2. I still don't get how the game works. The problem all MMOs with this kind of eSport idea run into was the fact that PvE items could influence the PvP outcome so that a pro scene never really took hold in any title that didn't go the route of completely seperating PvE and PvP content (like setting items in PvP to one standard for all players or having the option to get all items by PvP or PvE etc.), so how does this game get around these problems, because there is no way a game with these problems could become a popular eSport (even WoW couldn't do it and it was and still is the biggest MMO)?

1. In the novel, the player's booth does not have cameras and the booths were in back stage. Players only go on stage during introduction, which Ye Xiu never participated. The 3D hologram projection shown in this arc was first of it's kind and was first introduced in this exact All Star event. Ye Xiu avoided media and got fined for it every week. Until the Alliance felt bad and gave up. All pro players know how Ye Xiu look like. They just respect him to not take pictures of him or describe him to media.

2. The game is in first person view only, like FPS games. There's no separation between PVP and PVE skill sets nor in gears. All mobs, bosses and world bosses are just like players and are distinguished by classes just like players. There are bosses that are multiple classes combined. Bosses are only different from players in health, attack power, speed, defense, size and weight. Other than that, bosses are just like players. They can be knock back, knock down or thrown, just like players. Level differences, stats, gears and weight determines how effective player skill have on bosses, same for player versus player. The game mechanic is simple, keyboard controls movements and skills used. Mouse controls direction and also can affect the skills used. For example, press 1 on keyboard to initiate a horizontal slash skill, then use mouse click to aim where you want to hit, swipe mouse short and fast to make the skill animation go faster. Shorter mouse swipe equals to shorter slash, thus shorter animation time. Long mouse swipe equals to longer slash, thus longer animation, but hits harder. Can also control where you roll, how you quick recover, how you twist your body, how you swing your arms or legs. Basically you can control like real person with real world logic. That's why APM is very important and greatly affects the outcome. That's how Tang Rou beat the pro with only low level skills. Her APM is top notch even compared to the entire pro league. She overwhelmed Du Ming and he didn't have a chance to counter. Lower level skills have shorter cooldowns.

Also, Silver weapons and equipment are what pros use. It's self made. It requires tremendous amount of rare materials. At the highest level, all silver weapons and equipment uses rare materials from world bosses. And each world boss only spawn once a week, making certain rare material limited to 52 a year. That's why pro teams have club guilds to farm them. Club guilds fight for each and every world boss, as much as possible. All fights are massive world pvp, typically 200 to 300 players per guild and on average around 3 to 6 guilds fighting each other per world boss. Depend on which guild gather info first on spawns.

This arc is awesome. The fight scenes rivals that of Fate/Zero. I was worried about the studio change. But the new studio's art style is better resembles that of the novel's design. The fight scenes were not shrouded in clouds of dust with flashes, unlike first season. Overall, I give it 8/10.

Ye Qiu really had to remind these boys lmaoooo
“I love heroes, but I don't want to be one. Do you even know what a hero is!? For example, you have some meat. Pirates will feast on the meat, but the hero will distribute it among the people! I want to eat the meat!” - Monkey D. Luffy

Damn Ye Qiu making a comeback.

Still, I'm still getting bothered on his new design compared to his design on season 1.

Yie Xiu completely destroyed that pro player, the rising dragon raises its head move told everyone that the one who was playing is Ye Qui. The animation in the fight was freaking epic!

And now finally, once the boss lady realized that Ye Xiu knew how to use that move, she now knew that Ye Xiu is Ye Qui. Her surprised reaction was priceless! Now it's everyone else that hasn't known yet...

Yes, as I hoped would happen, they decided to create a new pro team, Team Happy! Coming in season 2...

What an amazing finale! The amount of hype I'm feeling right now! Ye reveals himself to the world in such epic fashion! Dragon Raises its Head means that he won't lower his head! Can't wait for Season 2! They need to adapt the story to the end. This series is so good.

My waifu Mucheng was so perfect. I'll miss you so much. Season 2 needs to hurry so I can see her again.

The OP song is so damn good! Burn! Burn! My fire! Fire! Come on! Run! Run! More faster! Faster!

Definitely far more relatable than the otaku 16.5 shit that was SAO. Really didn't expect to enjoy this so much, in hindsight, I probably should've waited for season 2's release before binge watching this, but I don't regret starting it. Can't wait for what season 2 entails.

Great episode. The best out of the three episodes.

Ye Qiu wrecked that guy at the end. Looking forward to season 2. 8/10.

Jesus, I enjoyed this so much. When he went on stage and played against him. Goddamn, that fight was just beautiful. Well done.
The best EP.

this was fun, too. episodes 1 and 3 were really good. episode 2 was meh, whatever

the team is officially formed, though, only 2 of the players (and boss) are on it so far. heck of a way to announce his comeback. had that whole arena on their feet and stunned. can't believe boss though, she finally realized he was ye qiu even though he literally told her that the first or second day they met. she just wouldn't listen

if i averaged the 3 episodes, they'd come out to a 7/10. but on the whole, i enjoyed these 3 specials more than the first season (which i rated 7/10). so i'm giving this an 8/10
