Well let me give you an advice.
Just for the information.

The first Episodes and the following first Episodes can be quite average.
I know that it can be for many people. So maybe for you as well.

But it will improve a lot afterwards.
So I hope you will keep on watching Gintama.

I'd have to disagree though and I believe the main reason is because the big sequels this season aren't stuff that I've watched or intend to watch.
I had a lot of shows with 8-10 in the Winter from comedy shows like Demi-chan to more serious shows like ACCA and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo S2.
All i got this season is a great comedy show like Royal Tutor and me just sitting on the conclusion for Kado before getting too excited.
