A game where the losing payment is a finger isn't enough, the game itself is guessing which finger of the opponent's is unguarded and trying to cut it off yourself. The victory condition is cutting off the finger! That is just as extreme as the dice, real snappy and real fun. But I wanted to comment on how the characters are also just as cartoonish and fun, not only in behavior, but design. The boss Zaizen is not a traditional sadistic old man in Fukumoto's style, he's a wrinkly bag, and this one? He's a half faced pyscho with a finger missing and a finger collection to boot. The character designs are wild and in theme!

Speaking of the character design, I do presume the half face thing will come up in the actual gamble, but the hair got me thinking of the emo kid. We know that Zaizen has blood relatives in this game. Perhaps some of his blood relatives are also the hosts. Either way, I have never seen white emo hair done in one of Fukumoto's works before, so the immediate connection between those two characters made me feel that they were linked in some way. Maybe as two close relatives of Zaizen.

Edit: Oh I forgot to correct myself! My last post suggested that a finger gamble was small enough in stakes that it was losable in the narrative, but if I recall, if you lose you are actually disqualified so I have to question why we added that rule in. It seems to only take away the tension as losing is now far less likely.
