I think i'm late to this, but yeah, they reached to their dreams. Suppon owns one to two large mansions(or was it a hotel?), he's rich now. Baremoto became a lawyer, but still couldn't get his degree lol. Joe got famous, and had released his 2nd album. Cabbage married Ruriko, who was Suppon's assistant years ago. Heitai got to be in a position like Ishihara years ago(i cant remember the word here sorry), and he's trying to help the kids there become better. After work, he returns to his home to meet Megu, now his wife and having been pregnant. It's probably a twin!
The thing that pissed me off about the ending is that Koike Setsuko never got with Mario (Setsuko's husband betrayed her and died btw), since Setsuko came back to the hospital and work there as a nurse and Mario is wandering all over America.
I liked the way it ends, but i'm a bit sad that Setsuko never got with Mario after all the shit they've came through in the near-last arc.

You can read up until chapter 172 in mangakakalot. However, I had to read the last 5 chapters in french. If you want the link I can send it to you. It's a shame that nobody produces the manga anymore. I could buy volume 17 for a decent price on amazon but the volume 18 to 22 did ever not exist or was ridiculously expensive

I understand you, but I also think that after some head canon we can say it can go Eitherway. Ruriko left Mario, why? Idk maybe cos he got along with setsuko. Yet again there is also things that disprove this, so I am not sure. Well it's up to you, because if you want it is there.
