Few anime are from Chinese manhua or Corean manwha.

But yeah Radiant is probably the first french manga with an anime.
It's not the better tho. Dreamland is the french One Piece and he is far better for me.
The difference is that Radiant is the only one who reach Japan !

Dreamland? J'avais essayé ce truc, c'est trop dégueulasse... mais ça ne m'étonne pas du tout, si c'est le "one piece français" sachant que OP est tout autant dégueulasse................

The thing is, when you've done litterally everything, you can't really invent anything new, right?
At the very least, it beats those stupid school settings in my book.

So they stop with innovations, and just import the same thing. Great.

Actually no, it's really not.

Why not a new Thriller or Cyberpunk anime ? <3

This season we have one random shonen (Nanatsu no Taizai) and more than 20 Slice of Life (Violet Evergarden, Citrus (meh), Karakai Juzou, Koi wa Ameagari, Yuru Camp, Sora yori no Mooi Basho, Dagashi Kashi, Ryuuou no Oshigoto!, Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan 2, Gakuen Babysitters, Mitsuboshi Colors, Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san, Slow Start, Miira no Kaikata, Hakumei to Mikochi, Takunomi)

And you say "no" ? Lel.

Since when did anime stop innovating? You've clearly never seen the hollywood's film if you're going to think that anime has a problem with originality.

I would take all those in exchange for a battle shounen.

I did, but I still don't know why you complain because they aren't asking for western author to create something so that they can adapt it.

Could Valerian and Laureline get an anime adaptation? we probably won't be getting a new movie, also the one we got wasn't great.

Ok, it's your preference but you can't say "So they stop with innovations, and just import the same thing. Great." tho because all of them don't innove more than a random shonen.

I like the way people contradict themselves saying French manga aren't "manga" and then call it a manga... (not aiming anyone in particular in this topic though)

Anyway, there are a lot of great manga in France (and elsewhere for sure) but don't have popularity they deserve and are underrated because it's not Japanese, but if people were to look at it, they wouldn't guess I'm showing them a French manga. So yeah, I don't get why this is a bother.

Not from Japan, but published in Japan so...

Strange that nobody stated the opposite... Japan animation industry has an history of adapting chinese, european, american novels or children books.

Personally, I don't mind that since the manga market got the opposite with french publishers recruiting japanese authors for new stories (well, too bad they aren't really "new" in the "innovative" meaning).

@xcrowe Peut-être ai-je mal compris, mais Ki-oon s'était autrefois targué de publier des titres travaillés avec l'auteur. Et récemment:

What manga are you talking about ? Sorry but I don't know any french publishers asking for help from japanese mangaka ? As a French person I'm quite surprised to read that !

Its made in Japan, Japanese Studio, the same studio who made Assasination Classroom and voiced by the usual japananese voice actors, its just the source material that isnt from Japan.

People are forgetting that this is gonna be from Lerche... so it will probably suck balls just like the majority of other manga that's not from Japan.

Why does that mean it's gonna be bad? They did pretty damn well with the Assassination Classroom adaptation

The Danganronpa animes were kinda cool too, they had a serious amount of problems but they were a good addition to the players who wanted an anime adaptation (the first season was really rushed but there was good additions such as seeing other students helping Makoto to get the proofs and that was one of the concerns about the first game (that the hero was the only one doing every thing).
But yeah, other than that the animes for Danganronpa were not an entry point for people to discover Danganronpa and that was the major concern about them (that + the poor ending of DR3 but Lerche isn't responsible for that, Kodaka is).

I still haven't watch the Assassination Classroom but had only good echoes about it.

For Radiant, the author said on facebook the five first episodes of this adaptation will differ a bit from the first manga volume in the appearance of the characters and the way the background and universe are presented to the viewer, but I think that's a good idea since the first volume is a bit bland in the way the story is showed. But he also said the second part of the anime will be the same as the manga and that's good because the second part of the first arc is really interesting.
