THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
So that's how they planned to end the show...

A final confrontation with Steel Ruler, dealing with darkness, and other shenanigans.
Honestly, this was an extremely underwhelming anime that didn't take off from the start.

The finale didn't even feel memorable as well.

Hope this doesn't get a second season after seeing that last minute of this show.
I didn't mind the art style at all, it's just the story was just such a chore to get through and so boring!
I'm still not entirely sure what this was suppose to be about, there were still plenty of questions that needed to be answered.
PLEASE DON'T GET A SECOND SEASON.

I hate that it took 12 episodes to make those Idol girls relevant, because they are fairly decent in this episode. I feel as if they took those 4 out and used that lost time to develop the villains a bit more the show would be a lot better. Also that cliffhanger fucking sucks, because I know we won't be getting a second season and I felt like I was just getting into the show.

That was fun. Superhero shows are always fun (except BvS and whole DC EU). Too bad 2nd season will never happen.

Questions:

- In the end Wraith was Ethan or not? Why Eleanor says that she creates him?
- How Eleanor can be saved if Wraith did die?
- How X-On know Ian's name?
- Why the frog's team not were absorved by Darkness?
- Who is Stan Leee team and he?
- What happen with X-On in the past? He only did escape?

So Xon isn't a reflected. That's a pretty big reveal to drop now and the ending being a cliffhanger makes me wonder if they were initially planning a two cour but it got cut to one. I wouldn't mind a second season, since there are still some unresolved questions here, but I hope they fix the many issues from this one.

I kind of wish Eleanor didn't come back, only because her death would have helped the story.

I think the show was just promoting the group, 9ine, which is why we kept seeing them but they didn't do anything until now.

I think this was a great episode. Though the show started slowly, I liked it in the end. And the awesome feeling which you got when the "Ninth Wonder" helped Ian was real. Hoping for a second season.

Maybe this wasn't the most exciting conclusion, and it was mostly predictable, but it was decent, as was the series as a whole - at the very least, this show is much better than the MAL score indicates.

The ending is such that there has to be a second season (in the first place, this show is called The Reflection Wave One, so it hints at Wave Two from the start, even before you see Wave Two threatening to begin in the ending). My fingers are crossed that there will be a second season despite everything.

So at the last second they tease more after all. This after I got disappointed that they were cramming it all into one cour.

What Zen nothingness & everything becoming one were they smoking? And a dragon appears.
Nice steel ruler switched sides finally, had the foreshadowing dev.
Seems Eleanor recreated dead Ethan from darkness, then it just went rampant? Somehow she was in everyone's consciousness then teleports back to real world?
The Ian & 4 girls combo and Xon had nice fights. The interesting abilities make most fights alright. Art was barely tolerable but there's bits of good moments.

Overall, it was decent at best. Story line felt super slow, and many of the episodes just felt meh.

Although there's no evidence of it, or none that I saw, what if the reflected were the precursors to people having quirks in Boku no Hero Academia???
To my knowledge, I don't recall there really being any real back story to how people got their quirks, they just happened to be born with them one day. So, say it's years and years in the future, people are still prejudice and about the reflected, making all those remaining just keep in hidden or go underground. Finally, someone has a kid, fakes that they aren't one of the reflected, and says the child was just born with powers. Others start doing the same thing, then BAM...you have quirks!

I rather think That Ethan was the real Ethan and not a creation of Eleanor but acording to the last episode... It's strange. Anyway, Wraith know all of Eleanor, it can be the both possibilities.

1) Eleanor split herself into a light and dark half which manifested as Ethan due to inner darkness/survivors guilt.

2) As above, Wraith was never real just a manifestation of Eleanor's suppressed darkness that weakened as she became aware of it slowly denying it over

3) X-On is clearly a big 80's US music fanboy. Saw him without the mask and was like "OMG ITS IAN"

4) Stan Lee's basically an evil Professor X with those powers. So....what if Magneto founded the X-Men and Professor X the Brotherhood? I think Marvel actually did an issue like that ages ago.

5) Guessing the Reflected are manufactured powers and X-On had a pre-Reflection power that allow him to copy them? Wait a minute....Mimic from the X-Men comics that Stan Lee also wrote was never a mutant either but he copies the powers of the original X-Men, Stan Lee's just ripping off his own stories here (just like in point 4).

Well, much things make sense. But then, you think that the entire Wraith was a Eleanor creation, or only the Ethan part?

About Stan, i think that too, and perhaps he was the real Stan Lee as some god, traveling about worlds and testing the characters or something like that.

And about ripping his stories, yeah, i see as a big tribute to all heroes. X-On is a "serious" Spiderman, Ian is Ironman, etc. About people saying Boku no Hero it's a copy of this, i see it in the contrary, Stan Lee is the father of almost every hero, and Boku no Hero takes it's history of that. And i love Boku no Hero too, but it not invented the heroes.

I liked this finale. It's only "Wave One" after all.

The series is actually decent even though the beginning is wonky. My favourite character would be Eleanor.

So Ian game the girls their names in real life - 9nine.

Actually, you gotta admit when the girls came out in magical girl costumes, that was probably the most satisfying moment of the show.

And I like it, the ending song sunsunsunrise.

Ian vs that killer.
Shining Flash!
9nine!!!!! Dat insert ED theme.
Sky Show!
Ian and 9nine teaming up!
Vy is back to normal.
Dat hand in the sky.
X-On is not a reflected to being with?
9nine kicking ass! lol at that burning flare.
Wind Shining Earth Flare!
Ian blasted Wraith.
Eleanor is back.
Now everyone leaving with the quickness.
Lisa cockblock Eleanor.
9th Wonder!
LMAO at Ian calling them 9nine.
X-On and Eleanor having their moment. lol
WTF is that in the sky? Season 2? No!!!!!!!

And that was the end of Kingdom He- I mean The Reflection. Best thing about it was obviously 9nine (big fan) and Sky Show.

A decent middle-show episode for a 26eps series. But that was actually the end...

So, Ethan was indeed Eleanor's dark half. I wasn't sure at first but nobod can complain about that as it does make sense and is one of the most used concepts here and there.
The Nice Ones/9Nine finally barging into the action was a foreseeable yet enjoyable gift. I wasn't expecting them to be a magical girl sentai.
I wasn't expecting something to literally live beyond the "darkness" (how much I wanted to laugh after hearing darkness over and over again ^^"). Looks like the dragon / darkness being is linked to the Reflexion and that the event isn't a "natural" phenomenon, I would have been interested to delve further into it, no matter how unoriginal this was.

Enjoyment: 4/5 Why was it so badly produced ?! They lost their chance to tell the whole planned story.

Overall:
Lots of hommages. Nice style but bad animation to illustrate a very conventional story suffering from bad narration. Plus, it ends incomplete.

Score: 4.5+/10

It's weird cuz except the chopy, sluggish and bare animation we got from most of the show. Other elements carried the ride just fine (more or less) into what I would consider a pleasant watch.

Although, I admit the cliffhanger was not a welcomed surprise but it's probably nevessary in the eventuality a new season ever occur in the future.
