Rob requested that I link this here which... makes perfect sense. A few people have probably seen it by now but for those who haven't be sure to take a look at my Maison Ikkoku Counting Guide. I assure you there is nothing quite like it on the internet. Enjoy!

Wow...how many times did you have to watch it to find all those parts?

I mean...I was looking for Kyoko's hair ribbon color and things like that, but it was very time consuming. I found some artwork bloopers by doing that though. ^_^

Honestly, it's just extreme concentration. I had already seen the show three times before that viewing so I knew what to look for when I was initially making my list of things to count. A few of them were added along the way once a character did something for the first time. Every so often I'd have to watch a scene twice to make sure I counted everything correctly. There were a few times where it was utter madness since so many of the things I was counting was happening at once. It's a really interesting experience because you're far more locked in than you normally would be while watching an anime, even something you really loved. I had to be focused 100% of the time.

Very nice! I like what you did there. ^_^

Here's some stuff I looked up some years back including Kyoko's changing ribbon colors:

Nice to see someone else with similar ideas also. It was a good read and you have to love the color errors in cel animation. Speaking of which, your Maison Ikkoku cel collection is veeeery nice. I too am a cel collector and here is my gallery. But not to worry, I'm not competition since I've never started up a MI collection. I thought about it many times, but I've found that collecting from too many series is the very worst thing you can do in this hobby. My main focus is cels of Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter.

Nice cels! I like those Hammerspace cels! I like your Slam Dunk cel too. That guy was very funny from what little I seen of the anime. I still recall that scene of him twirling the basketball around his waist. Lol

Yeah, it's not good to concentrate on too many shows when your money doesn't allow it. It's never good to spread yourself too thin, but you already know that. ^_^

I was still working on that list when I decided to stop collecting from Maison Ikkoku. I prefer to collect from a variety of shows these days. It was hard to control my spending early on, but now I don't buy as often so it's easy to only buy what I want the most.

Man, so this is for the anime, right? Just the anime, not the manga? I kinda wanna do this count through for the manga too suddenly! If I ever actually do it, I'll post it on here (and I might add a few things, which will only make you go back and watch it yet another time for the things I counted that you didn't the first time, mwahahaha!)
