So the new trailer just aired, and I have to say that I'm kind of disappointed in the quality of the CGI. It looks better than most CGI series, yes, but with Netflix backing the project, saying that it has a budget that is way larger than a normal anime film, I expected CGI that looked more like Final Fantasy Advent Children instead of a more polished version of Ajin...

Well, it's Polygon Pictures. It'll be just like Blame in graphic quality, another Polygon Pictures movie that backed by Netflix...

Don't like it? Just stop watching/reading it. Why become a masochist that keep going through something you don't like and bitching in the end of it?

I think this looks worse than Blame! . The color palette is pretty good but their darker colors are pretty shit.

Of course it looks like that, it is Polygpn Pictures. Polygon already proved that they can do futuristic fights against Kaiju in Knights of Sidonia.

I am too, Knights of Sidonia is awesome, and this seems a lot like it.

I think it's gonna be good, would handdrawn animation look better... Probably but you have to keep in mind how expensive feature length animated films are to produce. It's unfortunate that a lot of the stuff that is potentially highly technical and ambitious has to resort to CGI. I'm still looking forward to it.

I'm late on this but I actually quite like the "bad" animation. It adds to the mood and makes things feel more gritty and dark.
