Love and Lies
| (Some weeks ago I said to myself "you cannot see that shoujo crap, that's for gurls"... then I saw the OP of the anime and here I am today discussing the manga) Obviously the plot is building around the big lie of Misaki, and not only her's, all the 4 characters are lying all the time in order to protect themselves and the people they consider important, but the one with the biggest lie that is going to put something big on the table seems to be Misaki First I thought it was the she had a crush on Nisaka and was just doing weird stuff (that was before knowing that Nisaka is a big coloured bird, so now it only seems like they know something about each other or are cooperating -thought cooperating seems odd given that Nisaka is pasive about the matter but when he speaks he favors Lilina). And thanks to the flashback of the Igarashi (the white haired girl) we get to see that Misaki liking Nejima is not a farse (at least not entirely) I will leave aside the obvious things like the hints of the narrator and her reunions with the ministery people Still there are other big sketchy things with her 1- Until recently the one who started (almost forcing) the kissing was her (this is something that seems important, like she wants to force herself to love him or force him to love her) 2- Her interactions with Neji sometimes are really odd, (in the recent chapters when he speaks about Kofun she seems to be worried or bored -something that never happened with Lilina who admired his passion for the subject-) 3- Also, in the recent chapters everytime Neji do smooth move to her you can see a shadow on her face or she turns around (a way of hiding what she is thinking) So, what are your theories about wth is going on? |

| While I don't believe it's the big lie of the series, I think that the sketchy things you listed are mostly just the story showing us the flaws in their relationship. She only really loved him from afar up until the beginning of the story, and now that she pretty much has him, it's beginning to show how unfit for each other they really are. She's not interested in Nejima in the same way Lilina is, and when they're together like they are in recent chapters, she is left dissatisfied. She just never had the same spark that he and Lilina had, and it's beginning to show now. |

| I think you could be right, but still if it were that simple a lot of things in the show would be pointless so gave it a thought and came with 2 possible scenarios 1- The experiment theory - This seems to be really popular, and it would be that the government is fully aware of their situation and is watching is texting with them to see if depending on the influences Nejima will choose the assigned scientifically perfect love or the platonic one, Misaki could be actively participating given that it was a good oportunity to be with the guy she loves. This theory would not explain why Nisaka seems to know more than he should tho. 2- The Sabotage theory - This is my favorite and its a little more complete, Misaki has been always in love with Nejima from afar, and her friend Igarashi who works with the assignation of couples proposes her to change the results in the pairing (it was also a probability that Misaki was going to be paired with Nisaka -given that even Nejima can tell that they are really compatible with each other, and even when rivals they can be comfortable with each other -she always teases him, but they can laugh together like they did in Lilina's house- probably Nisaka agreed with this and this is why he has been seen speaking with Misaki secretely. This also could explain why Nisaka hasnt received a letter yet) then her friend tried to alter Nejima's results to pair him with Misaki but they were discovered, the plan failed and Nejima received the real results of his assigned partner (Lilina), but given that he already confessed to her and she already altered her results she cannot tell it. But after all the effort she starts to see that they are not really compatible and is making her suffer for all that she did. I know I speculated a bit there, but I think this theory leave nothing behind and could explain the constant guiltiness of Misaki, doing bad things to get with Neji, risking not only her future but his, and dissatisfied with him after all that. |

I don't see the experiment theory being true. I'm certain there have already been many cases of people rejecting their partner for the person they love. The fact that there are penalties for rejecting your notice and known consequences as a result of those penalties shows that people have rejected the notice before. It'd be absurd to think that none of the people who have rejected the notice did so because they already loved somebody else. There wouldn't be any real reason to do the experiment in that case. The sabotage theory is one I like. It makes the most sense, and I have thought similar things in the past. We already know Igarashi did alter the results and that's the reason why the results came back the way they did, so having Misaki be a part of it isn't so out there. |

| Anyone of you knew about Misaki's parents being lovers just like Yajima and Ichijou? While getting a divorce in the future that's why Misaki trusts the system and saying she's not the girl for Yukari since the system choose Lilina, not her. After all, Misaki has a step brother. Can't blame Misaki though, she really loves Yukari and it's really heroic to fight against your feelings and sacrifice the things you want the most in this world. |

Even if, it doesn't make any sense anyway. Especially after latest chapters. Do you really think she faked her feelings fir Yukari (all of them, including previous school etc). It's you're right and it's the real reason behind whole drama, it will be instant 1/10 for me. |

| I think that Misaki's secret is more related to a family thing, or something that happened to her (let's say she's pregnant, maybe not by choice) and doesn't want Yukari knowing. Also judging by Lilina's reaction when she whispered it to her, it might be something not so nice as just being a lesbian. Lilina wouldn't have reacted like that since she understood Nisaka pretty easily. |

I don't think she is a lesbian. By the phrase "she and nisaka like someone that's not supposed to" She was pertaining to Yukari, they were not supposed to like him since he already got his notice. She did say from previous chapters that she like both Yukari and Lilina but her likeness for Lilina is not romantically related. She meant that she like her as a friend |
