So i watched the anime a few months ago and loved it, its one of my top 5 anime, and i just started buying manga recently and i just wanted to check and see if the manga is different enough to buy it. and by different i dont mean a different feel or story i just mean does it have more to the story than the anime has, or enough to make it worth buying and reading. thanks.

I saw the manga first. It's got this late 80s japanese anime feel of the drawings. What got me hooked was the plot, not really the drawing.
The anime was great without the censorship. Also, it has a western look to it.
they both follow the same story line tho there are only minimal differences than expected.
It's the anime's win this time.

There's couple original scenes and missing scenes in the anime but they're similar enough to call same thing.

in terms of art yes the art in terms of story and plot not much i mean approximately 95 or 99% of what was seen in the anime, the segments almost every scene identical or nearly identical ...fairly canon the only difference i remember really noticing was there was no groping scene in the manga (maybe that's why murano seemed a tad more nicer to shinichi in the manga) plus the glasses wench doesn't have much of a prominent role...and the art is more humble and nostalgic not too modern..which is good.... the manga in my opinion was a tad better than the anime

Let's take into account the years of difference between manga and anime. The animation was the one that adapted well to the time and without losing the plot and the quality that the manga offers.

In other words, there is not much difference between both productions, both are good for both the reader of yesteryear and the current follower of anime.

The biggest difference is only the art style and the year it occured, the manga was set around 1980s, the anime was set around the 2010s, the anime artstyle corresponds with the current era's artstyle, and the settings of the anime was set around 2010s, the buildings were more modern, and there were smartphones as well
