| Third volume and still no kind of meaningful character development, and the main female character is still gagged. Might end up dropping this one if it doesn't start to turn around. |

| I bet this fight was crazy in the anime. In the manga, I was capable enough of tracking the basic idea of the action and the resolution, but I'm sure the clarity and motion of the animation really elevates this encounter. Would I want to deal with Zentisu's whining to get there though? Regardless, Zenitsu is back in my good graces at least, him protecting the box, seemingly without his typical whining is really sweet. And I like the basic arc of the demon Tanjiro defeated. |

| honestly, compared to the anime, this fight was kinda underwhelming and the demon himself was a lot less emotional. the anime made the fight and his backstory impactful and memorable, but if i had read this and not watched the anime then i'd easily forget who kyogai is |
