Such a touching end. Exactly the same as the Tv show version just with some lower res type.

pretty downer way to end the ova. Basically a mankind sucks episode. Im guessing he let himself die cause he knew he would snap again and kill. I enjoyed this run and I plan to watch the re done tv series.

I am really glad that they remade this anime and even keeping true to the original art style, jokes and what not. While this was great it nly covered a couple of chapters and while these were great for the original buildup of Ushio's character it didn't had the plot story like the 2015 remake did.

In general I did quite like it! But the remake is this time leagues apart from he original.

It's a decent point to end the story I guess, but still somewhat unsatisfying.

I find it funny the opening shows off plenty of things from the future of the serie but that weren't adapted in that OVA.

Not a bad anime, but I found the more recent TV Adaptation better (than again they had a lot more episodes to work with too.)

TO be fair, I think this version would've been the better one if they've only adapted a lot more, even if it stopped at a certain part, they still had the intentions to adapt several things that the 2015 TV version skipped. So the new version only really wins for having finished the whole story.

I personally interpreted it more as "the world is full of bad people (People who pollute) but there's also good people and we can all make a change"

It's a lot more nuanced and this is why I liked the message a lot more than in other TV shows and Anime. Doesn't feel forced and the way it's conveyed isn't preachy, like many other shows.

And well the episode is part of a much larger arc in the 2015 TV series and the Manga (which I recommend), with Ushio going on a journey to find out his mom's real whereabouts.

I feel the OVA's were originally meant to be a much longer TV series and that's one of the reasons. (plus previous episodes being toned down, the eyecatchers, there being a second opening and ending in the first place, both of which take stuff from later in the manga) But it seems the decision to scale it back was made with this episode. (Hence there's more gore than even the Gamin episode and why it's presented as a monster of the week story, with Asako and Mayuko being slightly inserted into the plot)

Wait a second, are we suppose to feel sorry for Juro? Because I don't! He was a murderous P.O.S!  The whole "I killed myself because I know one day I'll snap and kill again" is suppose to make us feel sympathetic towards Juro? Because for me it doesn't.

Also he deleting himself is suppose to make us understand him and forgive him for what he did, all the innocent people he killed? Once again, it doesn't. At least for me.

This last two episodes felt like a huge led down! Unnecessary eco friendly & humans are P.O.S story arc and a enormous anticlimactic last episode. Folks this is how not to finish an anime.

This show could have easily been an 8 or maybe a 9. But because of the last two episode I gave the show a 7.
Me every time I hear the word "reparations": 🤣🤣🤣
