THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This "sequel" doesn't do its predecessor justice. You can tell it tried to appeal to a different audience with all the action scenes and what not but they just ended up being over the top and ridiculous. The people chasing Black Jack were incompetent as hell and the amount of plot conveniences that saved his life were too dam high.

The patients and operations didn't feel as interesting either. Probably because in Black Jack 21 most of the patients had something to do with the organization story. I liked how most of the episodes had a bit of a moral of the day vibe to them in Black Jack (TV) but you couldn't really see it in BJ21. Well maybe that one with the 60 year old kid in a coma but it didn't seem like Black Jack actually learned anything out of it.

Then there's Pinoko. A character who I actually found kinda cute from time to time has now been turned into one of the most annoying kid I've ever seen in an anime. There was no point in having her with him and she just made things worse for him the majority of the time. If the Organization wasn't so stupid they would've kidnapped her as soon as they landed at their first destination. The fact that she was his assistant whenever he operated is a pretty useless excuse to have her with him since anybody could do what she does lol.

There's probably some other things I'm forgetting here (probably already posted about it in the previous discussions) but yea, it was just a frustrating watch. The first 2-3 episodes were actually good but as soon as the house got blown it just went downhill. Worst part were the ridiculous decisions some of the characters made, including Black Jack himself >_>

This series is nothing like the prequel. So I'll lower it's score.
Some parts of it was really ridiculous indeed.
