| One thing that I think makes this effective, is that we're already well attached to Sakoto before we get this stuff. As I've said before, I do find this story gripping, but I wonder if it'd be that effective as a beginning of the series, in large part because it seems there's such a gap between this content and where the series goes. But even though we know she clearly survives, Kon's done a good job hammering in how much of a trauma this is for her, like when she interrupted Nagai's talk about his story telling skills. And much like Nagai, yeah I think this was a bit much, but it could've gone worse I guess, at least? |
