Are you an older fan or a younger one? Did you just get into it, was it a year ago? Two? Five? When you were young? What was your first experience with it that pulled you into the music aspect of Japan? :D

Personally, Gravitation pulled me into it about three years ago. I loved Kinya's voice and just had to search for his music, and I found Dir en grey, Hyde, and Gackt on the same site where I found a ton of Kinya's stuff. So curiosity got the best of me, and then I got hooked. ~

Now it's your turn. ^^

For me it was Inuyasha- I started really getting into anime when I starteed watching it 3 or 4 years ago and music came with it... Though most Inuyasha songs suck...

Gackt for me is a new and exciting discovery (^_^)/

I can't remember which band got me into Japanese music. Just some random anime I've watched years ago that got me hook. And then I started getting curious about their music.

Well it was about two and a half year ago when i started watching anime... And I mean when i became a fan of anime.. :P So I heard music from anime like Naruto where I found Akeboshi (<3) and then I was really obsessed with 'Haruka Kanata' by AKFG...
But those were just random songs but Bleach got me into UVERworld and that was the band I really got into (searched the music and all)...

About over a year ago I started listening more bands outside anime... Finding better music... ^___^

I think I have been into japanese music for about 7 years...

I was really interested in Sailor Moon, and my family had just bought our first computer so I surfed at Internet sites searching for everything Sailor Moon. I found a Swedish website which had some japanese songs to listen too and I remember it was soo cool... japanese was a whole new language to me and I really liked it. So I listened to a lot of Sailor Moon music. And then I started liking more anime, and more music... and that's how I ended up as a japanese music fan xD
I'm honest but you got to watch me a little

When I started using stepmania, I decided to play op's of certain anime, and just grew addicted. It started there, but didn't end lol :)

I've been listening to it ever since I was born... I'm Japanese, and I was born in Japan. Despite the fact that I live overseas now, I still listen to J-Pop/Rock.

(Sailormoon is my first anime.. ^_^) Internet was not that famous at that time so I go on my way of listening to the songs of the animes I like and write them while listening...

Almost two years ago, it was when I was first getting into anime and I found I like the music behind the anime openings and endings. I'd have to say what really got me into Jrock was HYDE.
What you saw at the castle on that windy night ,and what you saw at the bridge last night .. how I smiled, never utter a word to anyone. If you dare speak .. I will find where you are .. And I will kill you. Kill you. I will rip you apart .. crush your bones And eat your flesh.. I will drink your blood. I will .. devour you.

One day i was at my friend alyssa's house and she put on like metal or something on sirius on the TV and thats when Dir en grey - saku came on, and im like "HOLY SHIT! THIS IS MY KIND OF MUSIC!!! XD" so then i frantically ran around the house in search of a pen and i found a crayon and scribbled the bands name and the song onto my jeans then listened to them at my house. Then i saw on youtube at the same page as Saku-dir en grey, i found Cherry Saku Yuuki then Antic Cafe was my new obsession, and There was this pic i found that looked like Kanon from antic cafe and it was someone else which brought up more japanese music XD I found Gackt from my ex chris who has this manly-man crush on Gackt (more like a manly-man obsession) and he showed me his music and then i had a manly-man crush. even though im a girl o.o) but yeah, thats my story. I've been listening for either one or two years :D

In grade 7 there was this huge thing called Asiantown, I signed up, made a profile .. made friends. I then heard either Alice Nine or An Cafe on a friend's profile and fell in love with Japanese Rock. It wasn't until I started to watch more anime when I got into Japanese music.

I got into the Jrock/pop back during the first season of xXxHolic - Suga Shikao - 19 sai... so 2006 I guess. It's just such a funky tune I had to have it!! Then it was Nightmare and Maximum the Hormone, both from Death Note.. Now I have over 20 gigs of Jpop/rock, and not only do I listen to it regularly, I also hand out songs to ppl I know. They're surprised by how good Jrock/pop is...

I was on some random music website when I was first introduced to GazettE. I started listening to them last August but I didn't really get into Jrock till a couple months later when I had a short lived Death Note obsession/marathon and I fell in love with Nightmare. (I happen to be listening to them now.....) And I kinda just got hooked. Then I got obsessed. Now I hardly even have anything on my Ipod besides Jrock. And last week I got yelled at because of my Jrock obsession and lack of knowledge of American Pop culture. (Meaning I didn't know who Betty White was.) I believe the exact quote was "You know the name of every Japanese guy who can sing but you don't know who Betty White is! What's wrong with you?" That was TOO funny.

For me it was gradual yet subtle
About eight years ago I started thinking that nothing good came out in America.
I'm a big video game fan so two years later when I received metroid prime as a gift. I beat the game and loved it. About a year later I found the sequel echoes.

You:(What does this have to do with how he got interested in J-Pop?)"You've gotten a bit off topic"
Me:(ahhh memories.)"Not really..... well maybe a little."

So I liked the games so much I downloaded their soundtracks. From there I started downloading the soundtracks for every game I played and within two days had four gigs of music.
Around a year later I watched dragon drive. I never skipped the opening.
I rewatched it freshman year of high school and decided to download the opening "true".
At the time I was only listening to video game music and remixes, especially mystery dungeon sky tower remixes. With the exception of "owl city" and "true" none of my music had lyrics.

You:(ugh, tooooo looooong)"Alright we're finally getting somewhere with this, continue(please no)."
Me:[staring off into space lost in memories]"huh ha wa......... oh...... right.... Sorry."

Then about a year and a half ago I began my anime a to z quest,
and thanks to that and "true" I completely switched over to J-Pop and J-Rock.

You:(it's finally over)"**sigh**"
Me:(those were good times)"**sigh**"
