So as expected is full of short stories about the 33 main characters of the volume 1-3, featuring guest characters like Blue Comet's teacher, Akane's family and a lot of other Mahou Shoujo related to the mahou shoujo we already knew about.
I really like how he did it actually. A lot of reactions/situations for the characters form volume 1 to 3 that were left unexplained find their explanations there, including some very unexpected explanations. It also connects a lot characters from the first and second arc in unexpected fashion, and on top of this link smartly various short stories between themselves. Quite a lot of those short stories have a surprising "last page" after the case of that short story seem solved, which connect the character of the short story to other character and kept surprising me again and again.
going story by story :
Nemurin no bouken : wow 7,000,000,000,000 magical candies in the dream world? Are you kidding me? that girl is actually pretty much a goddess in the dream world, and here I completely thought that she was useless... She's Basically to the dream world what is Keek to the electronic world, that was surprising. If only the magical candies were shared between the dream world and the real world, Nemurin would have been unbeatable.
But that also means that she's the reason why Swim Swim started to want to become like Ruler rather than just being her servant. In other words, Nemurin is the indirect cause of a lot of tragedies cause by that wish from Swim Swim. That was... really unexpected.
Robot to Shuudoujou : Interesting to see Magicaloid 44's motivations and personality, as well as how WinterPrison became a mahou shoujo. That was unexpected. Also, wow Sister Nana is even creepier than what I thought. She seriously generated that incident with Calamity Mary on purpose just to be saved by WinterPrison? That girl is a freak.
Tenshi wo Produce : So that's why that useless pair was so popular lol. And that video was actually voluntary... Unexpected role of Tama in this. Probably one of the less interesting story though. We see a surprising visage for Ruler in those stories. She's far more caring in her own way than I thought she was.
Zombie Western : Seriously? wow that was haaarsh. Omg lol xD. So that's why Alice wasn't around for a while after saving Snow white? How did she got out of that one afterwards O_o. That was gruesome lol, probably the most gruesome scene so far in the story, as expected of Calamity Mary, you can be sure we're never going to see that part of the story animated rofl. Putting her remains in a box and throwing her in the ocean was the last touch. Kind of reminded me of a scene in Baccano btw. WinterPrison thinking that Alice smells like salt water afterwards... Well, no wonder xD.
Alice seriously had it bad. I already liked er quite a bit before but most probably even more after this.
Magical Daisy 22nd story
That one was weird, ok. Keek, what are you doing here, and what's with that costume. But man, I was wondering why Magical Daisy was part of Keek's choices, since she didn't seem to be part of the "Musician's children" AFAIK, yet not a mistake like Blue Comet was either. Don't tell me... Keek included Daisy just because she was pissed off by how her "reform" of Daisy was received? Seriously, why am I not even surprised? Keek is just completely nuts.
Cherna Christmas
Holy s*** I wasn't expecting Cherna Mouse to be "this" before reading the story. The end isn't a surprise since the first part pretty much gives it away, but indeed this makes sense. After all, her power is to change size, no one said her normal size was the human either. That's just the one she's usually using. And no matter what is at the origin, after transformation a magical girl is always a girl, as La Pucelle demonstrates it.
That was a fun little story, and lol, And that was Miyokata Nonako at the end lol, why am I no surprised? But does it means that he could have used her power on Cherna with success xD ? And that Crantale could have transformed her bottom body in Cherna as well ? xD
Wonder Dream
That one was a huuuge surprise. As expected of Nemurin though. As a god of the Dream world (or pretty much a god) she's still here somehow. And she's related by blood with Masked Wonder actually (cousin? )O_o.

So that's why her name is so weird rofl. That one is doubly sad when you think that Keek actually went to take her even though @NyanNyan already renounced to be a magical girl, and that her friends died through her own trial. Really surprised to see that she actually was the one who delivered the new version of the terminals for that trial though. Lol at Magicaloid taking money for it xD.
TopSpeed to asobou
Damn reading that one while knowing what happens between SwimSwim and TopSpeed in the first volume kind of tainted every fun moment in heavy sadness. That husband lost both his wife and baby with that one...
This one confirms again that Ruler isn't half as bad as she seemed to be during the first volume.
Akane to Yukai na Mahou Shoujo Kazoku
Ouch... So Akane... Actually had to face her 3 sisters and her mother during her own trial. Which means that worse than NyanNyan, she lost her whole family as the result of it. No wonder Akane is by far the most mentally unstable among the trial winners. Who knows, considering her family's personality, she may even had to defend herself against her family and kill them at one point. And of course the Forest Musician actually choose her whole family while knowing what would happen. That bastard T_T
Off no Hi no Kishi
Wait wait, an ecchi scene in that story? And of all girls it's the TRAP who got that scene ? Ahahah that came completely out of the left field xD. Genociko being in that kind of events somehow fits with her personality indeed. The one who was a huge surprise was Mervil however. Granted she was her on the Forest Musician's orders, that's still definitely not a place I would have expected her to be.
Gyuuniku Shoushitsu Jiken : Maid san wa mita
That one was funny as hell xD. So Deetick Bell encountered Nokko-chan when she wasn't in her Mahou Shoujo form, heh... A luck that Nokko-chan didn't recognise what was really happening, considering that she could have known. But man Nokko-chan's power is really frightening indeed. That panic that made even Deetik Bell flee was lol, and so is that enigma afterwards x).
Magical Illegal Girl
I knew Rionetta had to be strong considering she cleared those bloody trials but wow. In the real world, where she can have access easily to places with humanoid things everywhere obviously, she's actually stronger than Ripple. She looked more like a ninja than the mahou shoujo Ninja Ripple herself, that's something. That fight was very intense (although we knew no would die) and Rionetta sure was impressive. And haaaaaaah that guy was Pfle's grandfather, I didn't react to the wheeling chair and the eye patch, but yes indeed! That end took me by surprise.
Aoi Mahou Shoujo no Kioku
Wow, I loved the final connection with the jewel affair. So the whole mess around Rionetta's problem is actually due to Blue Comet... And the other side wasn't trying to cross Rionetta afteral. What kind of bad luck is that lol. And it was nice to see that there will be a third generation.
Crantale-san no tomodachi
So that was why Crantale looked at Shadowgale that way in the coffee shop loool. I didn't expect that xD. Ahahah Shadowgale was so pissed off at Pfle afterwards. What a weird mail though. I wonder if this is some kind of hint about some later development on the administration side?
I knew the writer was gonna throw some sad stuff, but I really wasn't prepared for some of those tear jerkers (╥﹏╥)
So Nemurin is somewhere out there in the dream world, I wonder if we'll see her again or if this was a last goodbye to her relative, I would like to see her help snow white.
And some of my question were answered here, it was a really nice compilation of small stories, even if some didn't reveal previously unknown facts, it was worth it just for the characters interactions.
