Canada is a big country. The majority of Canadians have not been to the majority of Canada. So tell us about your favourite places!

I live in Toronto, so Toronto, duh. But I've also been to Oshawa, ON, since my grandmother lives there and when I first came here to settle my roots somewhere, my sister and I stayed at her place. It was nice :D

You know, I really enjoyed Montreal, and Ottawa is decent so far, but my fiancee and I took the Greyhound across to Vancouver in May, and I've gotta say, the Rockies are so beautiful. Banff was amazing. Vancouver was awesome as well.

Algonquin park, ON~! I went there on my 18 day expedition and got to do and see a lot of new stuff. There was fresh spring water, a natural water slide, moose, bears, crayfish that tasted like crab, a surprisingly large amount of people who looked like models, white water rapids, and really beautiful scenery.

Cambridge is also nice. We have really pretty buildings.

I went to Algonquin park a few times as a kid, but I should go back. But wow, 18 days, haha. That's a solid length of time to be out in the wilderness.

Banff/Jasper is also on my (long) list of places in Canada to visit.

I never did much travelling while I was in Canada...kinda regret it now but one day I'll drive across the country! (though I have taken a road trip across half of the US...)

My favourite places:

1. Ottawa. Grew up there so it's obviously my top place in Canada. I like being in the middle of the political activity: a few minutes and you're at Parliament Hill and important world politicians stop here as well! And the museums are also very cool!

2. Toronto. The first time I traveled to Toronto, I was baffled by its amazing skyscrapers. I love tall buildings so I fell in love with the city very quickly. It helps also that I love mega-cities.

2. Vancouver (tied with Toronto). Last time I paid a visit to this gorgeous place was 3-4 years ago? I still think it was yesterday... Great landscapes and fantastic Chinese restaurants.

3. Montreal. The Metro. Oh how many times did I ride it back and forth as a little kid... And Old Montreal is brimming with culture! It's a very charming city.

Anywhere around the Rocky Mountains, going to Banff/Jasper is great for hiking because of all the scenery and the great trails. I do a bit of mountain biking also and Alberta is pretty good for that

Flying over the mountains into the B.C. interior is an amazing site. I have family in Abbotsford and I fly down every so often and the view from the plane is really something else. Just about everything in B.C. is nice though haha

I haven't explored much of Canada, but so far I really loved Tobermory, ON (Brice Peninsula National Park). It's a really nice place and would definitely recommend visiting!

Would really love to visit Vancouver someday though. I've heard it's really nice too!

I guess Vancouver, because I've lived there for the longest time, and it's nice and calm wherever I go, (I don't really like noisy places).
And also because pretty much my entire family lives there and has nice middle schools in my opinion.

Having lived in Ottawa for almost a year now, I can say that it has grown on me very quickly. A lovely city.

My favourite place is probably Vancouver since I was born and raised near there... so many happy memories. I did go on a bit of a cross country adventure with my mom to Quebec many years ago though and I will admit Baie Comeau and Sept Illes were gorgeous.

Nice! It sounds like a really cool place. I've never visited many parts of the west unfortunately... Is there a lot of fruit in Okanagan?

There sure is! Delicious fruits during the summer... which would be the best season if you decide to visit one day! There is tons of wineries which make the landscapes beautiful as well :) Also, there's a mythical cryptid lake monster, Ogopogo, that lives in the big lake lol

I too wish to go on a road trip across Canada one day!

Salt Spring Island, BC. It's one of the Gulf Islands, a cluster of self-contained islands scattered between Vancouver Island and the Mainland. Salt Spring is the largest of the Gulf Islands, though it's still pretty tiny. I lived there for 3 years. I would never have left if it weren't for a stupid relationship (I'm an idiot, I've moved for love 3 times! lol).. and I plan to move back someday. It's a beautiful place.. it's like a different world, really. The people are so laid-back and open and nice. Most of them have a sort of hippie mindset. There's a cafe that's literally in a tree. There's beaches and nature and mountains and lakes and forests and rolling grassy hills.. and creeks and little waterfalls. You can get lost there. Some of the houses are so deep into the island, amongst trees, that a person could live there for ages, and no one would know. But of course, being part of the community there is the best part. You can hitch-hike all over the island and it's perfectly safe. It's a good place to raise kids, actually. Which is why I want to move back someday.

As someone who lives in Ontario, I enjoy the city life of Toronto. Hanging out in a restaurant or cafe while meeting so many different people are just some of my favorite things to do. Maybe stop by a shop and take a peek? Great place for chilling in.

You're not the first person I've heard say great things about Salt Spring Island. Maybe I'll visit someday.

Quoting myself from two years ago. I went to Banff and Jasper this past summer, and the whole area was stunning.

It's a bit hard to differentiate which places are really the best in my opinion, but... I guess there are a few places that I enjoy completely.

Ottawa, Ontario - Well, it's the national capital, and it's one of the two places that I've grown up in. I love the community, the fact that the government is seated here, and most of the people in general. It's also the spot where I've met a bunch of people (including the Prime Minister and Leader of the Official Opposition), so I have no room to complain!

Gatineau, Québec - The other significant half of the National Capital Region, and the other place that I grew up. It's not the nicest place to live, with the bad roads and the lack of snowplowing, but it's where a lot of my childhood memories (like getting into anime) originate.

Québec, Québec - Alright, before you question what the heck this means, it's Quebec City in the province of Quebec. That's how Quebecers call the city, anyways. I really just love the place for the old buildings and the scenery.

Toronto, Ontario - Well, what's not to love about Toronto? I mean, other than the traffic, of course; that's the worst part of Toronto. But, the skyscrapers, and Queen's Park, and the food, almost everything is great over there! There's not much to hate about Toronto at all.
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

I've been all over Canada, but my absolute favourite place would have to be either:

- The Rockies, I've spent so much time all over in the Rockies Its hard to pick a specific town or even region. its also beautiful I absolutely love it, there is never a bad time of year to visit winter, fall, spring or summer there is always something to see and something to do.

- Vancouver island, not quite as pretty as the Rockies but its got its own charm for sure. Practically no snowfall but the rainstorms are imho more dangerous than ice. Victoria has a decent handful of cool shops and lots of sight seeing, if I had to live somewhere else than I do right now I'd probably live out there.

I’ve been to Vancouver but only for a day. That was 7 years ago. I just had to roam around downtown, renew my PH passport for the last time, roam around again, then back to the airport.

I also went to Banff, Lake Louise, Drumheller, and Jasper. Vegreville, AB is the eastern part i only reached and it was for a school trip. So yeah, i still have lots of places i haven’t visit yet

I LOVE BC. I've only been to Vancouver, Kelowna and Vancouver Island, but I loved it. I'm obsessed with mountains and so much yummy food. I also absolutely love Newfoundland! Beautiful scenery and love the run down fishing shacks. People are also so friendly.

I hope to visit Banff one day!

As a Nova Scotian, I definitely love my province! I also love Newfoundland and PEI. East coast love, what can I say haha. Big fan of the west coat as well though. BC is absolutely gorgeous, I'm actually going again this summer to visit my brother on vancouver island! Big fan of jasper/banff/lake louise in AB. Parts of Quebec are very pretty. Been to Toronto a couple times which was fun although I'm not a city gal. Never been to MB, SK, or any of the northern provinces&territories. Although my cousin teaches in Nunuvut, and I'd love to visit someday! Just not in the winter, brrrrr
