They all just get to skip practice if they want, well okay then.

Akashi used to be loved and popular and nice until the other him came out. He did look crazy when he said that. He must be schizophrenic. He sounds it.

Plus his eye colour just suddenly changes, that doesn't happen so quick and it being symbolic would just be odd if that's what it is tbh. Like what they don't see it but the audience does to tell he's changed? that doesn't make much sense to me tbh.

He made Kuroko cry at the end! awwww :(

I personally think this is one of the best episodes of the series. It is tying up all those loose ends I have wondered about.

so the reason Akashi got his power because he "didn't wanna lose"?

When the reason is even more stupid than the power itself.

It's sad that talent is one of the reasons the team fell apart. Makes me think that maybe their oath is to fight each other in high school so as to relit their love for basketball or something? Since only them can beat themselves.. :/ (well this is before Kagami's appearance at least)

man this whole arc feels rushed. while the aomine scene was done well, all the other characters' tranformation felt weak since we didn't spent much time with them to grow any sort of attachment.

this is really interesting, because i feel it is going by just fine, but i keep seeing comments like this over and over. i guess only manga readers feel this way.
-------------
okay i'm sorry but i don't see what's wrong. in the end whether it is justified or not, aomine keeps complaining and making a mess every practice (if not every game as well). so if he doesn't want to go to practice...don't. what's so heartbreaking about that? the coach did nothing wrong.

also, akashi got so triggered that his eye changed???? and no-one is even noting about it??? at least shintaro wouldn't say anything, because he's apparently seen this side to him, so maybe when he gets triggered his eye color changes but that's such a huge stretch. it's like the director just wants you to make up your own anime logic on how it happened.

and i see that this basketball team relationship really hurt kuroko, since this episode proves he is a lot more emotional than the last 2 seasons combined. nowadays, he's stunted and talks even more rarely than he usually did.

also, what's this talk about the "OVAs"? what are they, since they are so much better?

I am really liking this pacing. They are blazing through Teiko arc without making it boring.

This episode has shown us the turning point of how the GoM changed. >.<
Everybody is too strong that I feel bad for Kuroko. The coach was pretty disappointing too.
they cover the left out scenes in ova

I was expecting something grand to have happened that's big enough to split them apart, I'm not disappointed. I really liked how winning big and even decisions from above resulted in all of that.

the moment of akashi awakening were EPIC, loved it.

i know that kuroko said that in they just stopped played as a team, but i didn't expected that akashi would really go out and say it formally. anyway, the whole breakout and especially in aaomine part were played right, really emotional episode.

and for what i saw, the head coach jut cough casually and then fell down, next moment he can't be coach, that was just pretty low written.

The ultra angsty drama kicked in harder than ever, you know it's serious when you get called by your first name...

- guilty head coach falling out and new head coach feeling guilty as well(it's as if they've created monsters)
- starting to discover that there're no limits for their talent
-Aomine, Kuroko conversation ( seriously, that face Aomine made xDD)
-  Emperor Akashi awakening and convo with Kuroko

Am I still watching a basketball anime? Lol. That said, even if it is edgy af, it makes for a decent character study.

Btw, Midorima's line that he can't be friends with those who haven't tried everything humanly possible was something I missed during my first watch. The boys from Shutoku are real ones.

So in short Kagami’s a blessing♡

But damn. Talk about being so OP that you project equally. I love how fucking dramatic sports boys always are.

Also. Akashi scares me a little. I think he’s in the wrong anime. Feels like he’s going to stab someone any moment now, of course not forgetting scissors!Akashi l o l

I understand Kuroko's plight, save for injuries that take people out of the field altogether, my own worst experience in sports is exactly players falling out of the team as time goes on, and eventually they barely even greet each other when meeting on opposing sides.

The following analysis of Kagami is going to be disjointed, since I have no desire to waste time on properly organizing my thoughts, so I'll just say whatever comes to mind to bring across my points.

Thank you for this, I was of the same opinion of Taiga as the OP, but you shed light on some important bits that I was unable to perceive myself. While this still doesn't bring Taiga any closer to being my favourite, ironically it makes him very inspiring to myself as an athlete. I think that I'm going to rethink my approach to the sport I really love in the following days, weeks and beyond.

And so that's how Akashi woke his geass xD

Team was already falling apart, courtesy some selfish goals of the higher ups, Aomine and Murasakibara's growing apathetic approach towards basketball. But then Akashi's second personality taking over changed everything for ever.

Kuroko realizing the gravity of the situation and breaking down was enough to symbolize things can't go back to normal like the old days.

So this was the fall-out of the team... Akashi lost his path of reason and became a force to reckon with.
