Since the first time Kim called his coach "colonel" (in a serious way), I knew what's up

I'm worried more about Joe's diet problem than the Kim's match tbh, feel like it could be a major problem in the future...hopefully not since I want Joe to win the world champion title :D

So they are both military huh, I actually really like this development, Joe usually fights against passionate guys but this guy is just downright cold and ruthless. Think the showdown will be interesting for sure.

Kim is really something, love how the anime built him up as a character, love the comparison to a computer. Yabukis weight problems seems like a bigger deal than Kim right now though.

It was obvious that Kim and his coach are both from the military.

Joe started to take Kim serious after his latest fight, thought he would kill his opponent tbh.

And a question which came up in mind already during the other episode is how old Joe actually is ? I think 18-19 should fit.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Oh wow, Kim's record really is frightening, he has literally never lost. The way Kim fights really is abnormal, what a terrifying opponent. Joe is still struggling hard with weight control, ouch.

I'm not too comfortable with the show's portrayal of its Korean boxer as a cold, emotionless, killing machine. But, I'm sure there's a reason for it, so I'll leave it at that for now.

I'm pretty sure the song used in the end was in Rose of Versailles, I think it has the same director

Most of the sounds in Rose of Versailles used in Ashita no Joe. You can see that the artstlye and animation are close to those in Ashita no Joe. indeed, it has the same diractor Osamu Dezaki

Dragon Kim, described as a mechanical fighter, a "cyborg-boxer", won every match he fought with K.O. Trains in a military base with a team of analysts. He's killed two boxers, but you see no pain in his eyes which are dry like glass beads.

What makes Kim dangerous is that he can not give opening to any lucky shot like Yabuki had against Carlos and Wolf. Both of them due to their ego kept going in to give risky shot because they wanted to defeat Yabuki's every attempt of cross counter or other moves. So, they keep letting him take those shot and keep moving into them. This is what essentially let to both of them getting career ending injuries. But with Kim even if Yabuki win he might get career ending injuries instead and Kim can continue to fight on.

Joe need to change his demeanor from now on.

@Shocked he's no ordinary korean boxer, he was an ex military who probably killed more than his boxing kill record
