| I've not seen this anime... However, I've heard that there's a lot of homosexual pederasty in there... personally, I think they were going a little too far with realism... I know it was like that in edo japan, but there's some things people just don't wanna see... other than that, this anime sounds insanely badass... But the deciding factor is this... which characters do this gay pederasty shit? If this show expects me to like a protagonist who does that... it's got it seriously wrong. Is it the antagonists who do this shit? If Gennosuke Fujiki or Seigen Irako are part of this, then you can count me out |

They aren't necessarily antagonists or protagonists either - morality in Shigurui is highly ambiguous. The anime only covers 30-something chapters in the manga though and it does not provide closure. Honestly though, I'd say the rampant misogyny is far more offensive. There's even weirder stuff in the manga, weirder than gay pederasty. I won't spoil that unless requested. Regardless, I say it's still a good dark series. For anime/seinen newcomers, I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped this instantly, considering how graphic it is. |
