| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Interesting and very confusing first episode. By confusing, I mean I had no clue what the hell was going on. But, I mean that in a good way. I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy RahXephon, but I have high hopes for it. |

| Awesomeness! It is rare to come across an episode that can excite me so much. A very great first episode. I hope the momentum is maintained in the next episodes!! I can't believe this is a 2002 anime! The animation is fantastic! That's BONES for you! |

| Okay I doubt this will be better than NGE but it looks very good so far. Actually the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was Ayato's reaction to the city being destroyed. I mean the scene itself was so powerful, just seeing the way the presented the destruction gave me a chill up my spine, and Ayato's running around like nothing's happened, even joking and laughing with that chick like "Oh wow I haven't seen you in a while. How's it going?" I think a more horrified and disturbed look from him would've seemed much more natural. |

| No, this is not NGE clone but sure as hell reminded me of it. Pretty good first episode with the themes and characters. That woman at the train station was pretty slick but otherwise, looking forward to more. |

| Very similar first episode to Bounen no Xamdou in my opinion (although this came first), will be interesting to see the difference in the two series (since just looking at the synopsis it is obvious they are very different series despite having an insanely similar first episode) . . . Not sure my expectations for this series though since I see people how love it and people who hate it. |

| A good episode. Kamina as a MC is kinda interesting. He has problems, but he's not that wimpy. Other than that, the remaining characters are so so. Good use of music. Heard many people claiming this to be an Eva clone. Well, the signs are there. But I have a funny feeling this can stand on its own :3 3.5/5 |

| WOW That was an incredibly SHITTY episode. AND THIS IS MY INTRODUCTION TO THIS SERIES????? WHAT THE FUCK! The statue mechs were cool, and the ED gave me chills, but other than that, I was wondering just why the hell I was watching this shit with autistic teens go through #justanotherterribleday |

| One thing that really stood out to me on first viewing back in 2005 was just how incredible the animation was compared to NGE. The glass shattering effect on the building during the Tokyo Jupiter battle just blew me away at the time. It's still great work. I wonder if it's 100% hand drawn. |

| Well, this Dali-esque world with weird Blavatsky references is cool? The thing floating around without arms creeped me out and so did, especially, the use of sound. There were strange drones and stilted dialogue. At first, the dialogue seemed awful, but I think it really helped make it work. The subway stuff also reminds me of Tetsuo: the Iron Man or I guess Harry Potter. Pretty cool stuff. |
| Kamina knows this Mishima girl since he's been painting her. Torigai already comes off as a jerk in this episode. I think there must be an existing love triangle with Asahina. Like Misato, this woman seems to act like an adult on the outside, a teenager within with the way she talks to Kamina. |

| Finally started this! I always wanted to watch this ever since the comparisons between Evangelion and this back in the day. Japan really has an interesting point of view when it comes to Christianity and Catholicism symbols. They really design divine beings with such elegance and mystique. I love it!!!! I hear so many iconic VA! Maaya Sakamoto Aya Hisakawa Yumi Kakazu This is even Shimono, Hiro's first iconic role, before he became well known as Zenitsu in Kimetsu no Yaiba. I didn't realize how old he has been voicing! Especially both Hisakawa and Kakazu. Since I just finished Godannar Anime and both voices lead female characters there as well! I can't wait for more episodes! Let's GOOO!!     |

| I loved this when I watched it early in my anime viewing career, happy to finally be rewatching it. This episode confirmed that I remember pretty much nothing about this show after all this time so this is almost like a first viewing. The art direction is really nice. They say it's like NGE At Home so we'll see if that's really true, off the bat I can see the MC and headband lady might have a similar dynamic to Shinji and Misato. I actually saw this before NGE so maybe that's a part of why it blew me away so much. Anyway, on with the show. |

| I have no idea what this show is about. Heard talk that i should watch tho. First ep, got some war stuff going on. Would have expected MC to be concerned about the ppl he left behind on the subway. Mysterious woman shows up and saves him, talking about the truth of this world, no clue what that means. I guess the person directing these creatures is probably his "Mother". Also, these creatures look wack. Art of the show doesnt look that great but for the creature things and that end with this egg, wow. Based on the preview, this thing that came from the egg looks kinda cool. |
