Not much singing this episode but it felt more like a built up episode. Mm, there were some bonding as well. Cool. That ending also made me smile with mostly Kira based.

Kind of a strange episode. I was looking forward to seeing how Kira would change, but... somehow I was expecting more.
I hope we get to Shun's arc soon.

Did Kira sing the ED...?

I love the ED song! I think it's the best ED in this show so far. Who sang the song? It surprised me that it wasn't Kira singing this week.

tbh quite a boring ep since it's centred on the least interesting SH member. But I like Kira's interaction with Daichi.

Wonder if they are gg to keep this pattern of the original members returning one by one.

I like how Kira's mum was unaffected by Kira's outburst in the car and in fact asked him to scold her more lol

Can't wait for the delinquent guy's and Shun's eps!

Ikuma and Kakeru's "death talk" was realistically reflective. Though not sure what being up this specific topic suddenly.

Not a bad episode. I think I understand what this show is about. Rather than idol performances, it focuses on the philosophical elements than an idol may come across.

Yeah I was wondering about the death talk too. But my random thoughts on it would be that maybe they're talking about the inevitability of things, like how even if they worry, they'll have to go through it...or something? It was still really interesting though, because it's reflective of what I do too sometimes, the thoughts that go through my mind when I'm going to go to sleep.

I'm thinking of this now as less of an idol show but a realistic and philosophical narrative executed through the idol premise, if that made any sense. It's actually quite interesting this way.

Anyways, when I realized that this episode was Kira focused, I initially felt disinterested. I knew what the President was talking about when he said that Kira's lines sounded creepy, it was like he tried to put in emotions, but it still sounded fake. It didn't matter if he memorized the script correctly, it was too well practiced. It's like how speeches don't sound that great when you've practiced it the exact same way so many times (well from my speech and debate experiences anyways...). But wow, that talk between Daichi and Kira was really great. And after Kira realized what was wrong, or what he actually wants to do from the bottom of his heart, he immediately felt like a much funner character. I actually shed a few tears when he shouted that he wants to be fun, and he wants to grow to like himself. It's actually really easy to relate to Kira, the one character who I didn't care for much at all. That being said, Kira was pretty hilarious the way he went crazy at the end. Kakeru and Ikuma were like o_o

Whaaat? I think Kira has been the most interesting thus far... even if he is a bit of a weirdo, lol. :P

Anyway, I liked a lot of the moments in this episode, even if there wasn't much substance to it, there were some nice moments between the characters.

Also, after the credits...

I like Kira and Daichi's interaction. It helps Kira realize something about himself. And I can't quite explain it but I really like this series so far. It's like it's more focus about the philosophy in life which makes you reflect and agree. Looking forward to the performance next week!

Most philosophical anime of the season= AOTS!

If it keeps going and starts to go into the group dynamic and establishes basic psychology, this might really beat out Terror in Tokyo, but for now it isn't showing such ambitions.

Still realistic, still heartwarming, still genuine and sincere.

5/5 - VERY satisfying.

I thought the talk about death was implying carpe diem, living life the way you want without restraint.

Had no interest in Kira at all, but I liked the episode. When the former idol helped him out it was a great moment. Kira realizes what's important. The running scene was great too.

Dunno why, but I like this show. I think because it's not about flashy characters and singing. It's more... realisitic I guess? People from all walks of life.. the themes of what it means to be an idol, finding yourself, youth + adolescence, growing up, living your dream... I feel the show is very sincere and genuine, as someone said above.

Glad it hasn't been as embarrassing as the first episode, I like the way it has developed so far. XD

God with that sass talk, he is the most interesting in this show

Kira when he started running, I was LMAO

Kira now >>> Kira before, I love how he stopped acting and went for his own original look.

But seriously, this show is the most underrated in the current season, more like one of the most underrated anime ever. Its gross how it is rated 5.88. I can really relate with some characters (esp. Kira and Kakeru) and I love the relaxing atmosphere in it. I think this was another great episode, and I am looking forward to next episode even more.

Btw Kira's VA has a great voice, didn't expect that. Liked the song as well.

To all those who think Yamashita Daiki aka Kira sang the ED song, it's not him. The song is actually "Life and Death" by a band named CustomiZ.

Sometimes this show is so embarrassing (cried into my hands upon "tweet tweet/HUNKY DORYYY")... but I liked it. (♯`∧´)

Starting to think this show would have benefited from being live action instead, but to get skilled actors/singers + sets + costuming might have been more expensive than animating + VA's.

The second half improved upon the first half -- carpenter former idol has purpose, Kira no longer "genius" child actor but a huge weirdo, and I feel for them both now. Good job. (//∇//)

This series is so meh. I don't know what exactly it is but I just can't like it. The character designs are pretty dull too.

Basically:

I just had to close the tab when Kira started yelling and running at the end. So cringeworthy.

Dropped.

Isn't she though? Kira's mother may be one of the most frustrating anime parents I've seen for awhile. She reminds me of a dance mom, really. One of those over-protective helicopter parents who want the best for their child, but do so in a very controlling, obnoxious way. I can understand why Kira was being an arrogant ass, because he was raised to be told he was a genius. Even though his mother was admittedly the one who had gotten him as far as he has so far. Always being told what to say, and what to do, Kira was raised more like a doll or a play-thing than a child. And it just proved it once his mother starting squealing with excitment over her child starting his 'rebellious stage'. I feel bad for Kira, I really do. I mean, she seems nice enough as a person, but she should really rethink her parenting tactics.

Okay, rant over.

As an episode, this didn't wow me as much as the last one. I didn't like Kira much despite his pretty nice character design, and near the beginning of the episode I could tell where it was going. Though the end....certainly caught me off guard. I just suddenly heard a scream, and I wondered who had murdered the guy. Just turns out he needs to squeal at the top of his lungs while running. It was cringe-worthy, to say the least. A lot of the episode was, but now that all of that awkwardness has been gone through, I have a feeling Kira will make for a much more pleasant character. Great character development, at the least. 6/10

This post might contain spoilers!`` Read it if you want!

I feel like when FUNimation decides to dub this series, Kira's mother will be Laura Bailey. My logic for this was because the seiyuu sounds close to her voice.
I really LOVED the ending theme``
I like Kira now``
Can't wait for the next episode!``

I'm really liking this anime. It's very calm and down to earth, and it takes its time with its characters, slowly setting up for little surprises and developments. Nothing earth shattering, but just enough to make you realize that these characters have lives of their own, extending beyond the idol world. Stories like this really rounds out the characters, which is something I appreciate.

Second time around, I didn't cry this time, probably cuz I'm really tired. But it was still a good watch, reminding me that everyone thinks about death, and how you should really be true to yourself and live how you want to live, and growing to like yourself. It's been over two years since I've seen this episode, and I still haven't changed in that aspect. But it's nice to be reminded of this again.

God was treating Kira like a child, telling him to play hooky. He's a really good judge of character, because Kira in fact is a child, as shown at the end of the episode. He just wants to have fun and has all this energy pent up and he keeps running. I love how Kakeru thought to himself that when he can't sleep due to thinking about death, he will think of Kira running :)
