| This manga has obvious - obvious! - issues. While I genuinely enjoy Arina Tanemura's art style (personally, I think it's one of the best in the manga industry, probably the best in the shoujou genre), she has problems creating coherent stories that surpass single moments loosely attached to one another. Nekoto doesn't seem to have any underlying storyline at all besides the "how is their relationship progressing"? Which is fine, but also kinda lackluster. Also, her main character girls tend to be one dimensional or cliché - like Ai. She is mostly defined by the male characters around here and not by her own self. The problems with the main couple here reach beyond this. An elementary schooler (who is behaving rather inappropriate as far as "romantic" situations are concerned) being in a relationship with a high schooler? Well okay.... them being cousins on top of that? Ugh, no, I mean... why? Why does this have to be so creepy...? |
