Calling this a movie is misleading, since it's clearly just an OVA, one could say OVAS are all movies but I don't consider something a movie if it's the same length as a normal episode.
Calling this a sequel is also misleading, is more like an alternate timeline where the Digimon didn't leave... but is it?
I just finished rewatching Tamers for like the 4th time in my life (I LOVE IT), and in the final episode, after the Digimon leave to their world, we get a scene of Takato going inside "Guilmon's house" in the park, and finding out the hole they used to go to the Digital World was still there, working, so I guess that hints at the fact they WILL be able to meet their partners once again. Plus, whe the Digimon leaved they all say they will meet again, and I mean, is not like them died or anything, so, what is really stopping them to go to the Real World again? We were never really explained how them got there in the 1st place, like, they just appeared for different reasons, while the enemies they faced just keep spawning like if it was normal, so, yeah.
This still could be canon if you think that's what happened, they returned to the Real World, let's say, after a year or so, and then this ova/movie happens.
I wanna think that way at least, it turns the sad but beautiful ending into a hopeful one were they indeed reunited.
Now, about the actual episode, it was quick, it was nice, everyone shows up, and the plot was kinda fun, I don't get the hate honestly. |
