| I doubt we'll see this guy again, but I hope he does, as he's like the only one who could bring more emotion out of Kasumi who just look happy all the time. |

| Nice episode. That guy was a childhood friend of Kasumi, he was in love with her back then but he had to move. |

| Wooooow, Yasukichi is such a cool dude. I like him much more than the other characters and I was disappointed to find out he's an anime only cast member. I really wish we'd see more of him BUT we probably won't... His style and cool nature remind me of Trigun. |

| I can't be the only one who forgot all about Dr. Tofu, right? When was the last time we've seen him, anyway? Good episode though, Yasukichi is definitely one of those characters who shows up for a single episode but leaves you wanting for more. |

| Ok, this filler wasn't as boring as I thought it'd be. Apparently, a Kasumi-focused episode is too much to ask for. So I'm glad this was made. And hey, Dr Tofu also made a brief appearance! Lol at Nabiki reading Ranma 1/2 manga. That's how you know this was filler. |
| Halfway through the series now, I have to say - it's very unfortunate how much less this series is than the sum of its parts. There are many great secondary characters who get little to no development while we devote dozens of episodes to Happosai, one of the worst characters in history, or fairly dull and uninteresting one-off characters. (I wouldn't say this particular episode is an egregious example of that, though.) I don't necessarily fault the series for not being super serialized, but there does come a point where it gets exhausting seeing things reset at the end of every single episode. This show has an unhealthy co-dependent relationship with the status quo, and its stories suffer immensely because of it. I want things to change, even if only slightly. I think this started very strong, had the potential to be one of my all-time favorites. But halfway through, I'm already so fatigued of it. If the sunken costs fallacy doesn't come through, I'm not really positive that I'll be able to carry myself all the way to the end. |

| Just recently we finally got a Nabiki episode that she shared with Kuno, and this time we got a Kasumi episode that was shared with this new character that is unfortunately anime only, Yasukichi, and I thought he would be another villain kinda like the doppelgänger guy before, but he actually ended up being a really cool guy that just had one bad moment by breaking a window, I like that he tried to matchmake Kasumi and Tofu Sensei (been a while since we’ve seen him), Tofu is probably a lost cause but I appreciate Yasukichi’s attempt to get them together. And then there was the reveal that he was actually a childhood friend of Kasumi’s, I didn’t realize she was foreshadowing this earlier in the episode when she mentioned that there used to be a farm, and it looks like he actually liked her back then, even if it’s not happening now I like that she remembered at the end, made for a sweet end to this episode. Unironically probably one of my favorite episodes of the show so far, kinda helps that Happosai didn’t appear except for on TV in this one lol, but the main reason is because of this great side character and the focus on Kasumi, it’s just a shame we’ll probably never see Yasukichi again, not even in the recently announced remake since he’s anime original, but at least we have this OG great episode. |
