 Well, hello there. If you like to read (book, manga, comic, LN, VN, newspaper, blog, magazine, cereal box label) this is the place for you. If you like to write (short story, diary, fanfiction, poetry, letter, chain mail) this is also the place for you. If you love potatoes, this maaaay be the place for you. Welcome!
Why the name?
I wonder how the book got to Guernsey? Perhaps there is some sort of secret homing instinct in books that brings them to their perfect readers. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a popular fiction written by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows about letters exchanged between a writer living in London and some people living in the island of Guernsey, during the post-World War II era. In this novel, A book club with the said name was created as an excuse for the people to meet secretly so they did not get caught and punished by the occupying Germans for breaking the curfew. (As for potato peel, it was an ingredient used in cooking during the wartime when food was harder to come by.)
Don't like the name? Don't worry, you can suggest new names for the club and we will take them into serious consideration.But really, it has potato in the name. What is there to hate?
