Welcome to our humble little club and we do so welcome you, we might be few but few is all we need. We seek out language and we write it, with a joy for poetry, literature and all things in-between!

Poem of the week!

I found a dimpled spider, fat and white,
On a white heal-all, holding up a moth
Like a white piece of rigid satin cloth --
Assorted characters of death and blight
Mixed ready to begin the morning right,
Like the ingredients of a witches' broth --
A snow-drop spider, a flower like a froth,
And dead wings carried like a paper kite.

What had that flower to do with being white,
The wayside blue and innocent heal-all?
What brought the kindred spider to that height,
Then steered the white moth thither in the night?
What but design of darkness to appall?--
If design govern in a thing so small.

Added that Archives thread for reference and added a new poem for the week, appreciate your suggestions Astros but this poem made me feel more adequate.
I guess it feels relevant, to ask ourselves if everything is all chance or if there's a purpose, if there is a higher deity and is he really all that good? I feel this is some of the questions that plague us in these times as we begin a new year and new reflections.

Oh, a suggestion just hit me. Perhaps you can make a thread dedicated to the Poems of the Week. You know like an archive for us to go back and look at if we ever want to revisit the pieces.
