Landscape; Nadir 2037

The year is 2037 and Virtual Reality entertainment has dominated the world. The virtual reality world known as "Landscape" has registered almost a billion users spanning the entire world. There, people can leave their stressful lives behind and log into a world where imagination rules and the possibilities are literally limitless. A user has two forms in this world. The first is their avatar. This is their default form and is simply a virtual materialisation of your real body. Think of it as a sprite. The second is more complex and personal; the persona. These personas are far more complex than your avatar and are a culmination of a user's mind, mentality and emotions, both good and bad. The user does not choose what their persona is as it is literally a manifestation of your psychology. There is one common trait among all personas however and that is that they all maintain a humanoid shape(arms, legs, head, etc). The developers have stated that the physical abilities of personas generally relate to three main items. [*]How the individual deals with life's hardships, represented by colours. [*]What type of person you are and the destiny you are linked to, represented by a tarot card [*]Your alignment, represented by an old earth alignment system of good, neutral, and evil, with lawful, true, and chaotic. Because of the uniqueness of each persona, and humanity's obvious fantasies of watching robots, armoured knights and monsters fight in arenas, it is no surprise that Persona fighting has a monopoly on the world's sports viewership. Viewable through both the Landscape and the real world, the PBA champions league is the most watched event of the year ever since its first debut three years ago. Persona fighting has become so popular in fact, that there are schools and universities dedicated to training young Landscapers into professional Persona battlers. The most popular and prestigious of these would be the Landsmeet Academy located in Toronto, Canada. Here students learn everything from persona fighting to VR programming Landscape design. You are one such student of this academy, having received a letter of invitation personal from the principal of the academy, a very rare and very prestigious honour. You are halfway into your first year at the academy and are currently preparing to view the third annual PBA Champion's league final with the rest of your class as a VR academy tour. It is at that game, however, that the very fate of the not only the Landscape, but the real world too, not to mention your own lives, will be hurdled into a pandemonium which humanity might not see the end of.
