For the past 3 years or so I've been running Crunchbang, usually sticking with Openbox and tint2. Most everything bound to hotkeys.

I've fooled around with awesome, dwm, lxde, herbstluft, and the more common DEs. Openbox feels just right for me. It's got enough tiling to get the job done when needed and get out of the way when not. The config files are easy to configure. I like it.

I'm currently using Linux Mint 13. I started out with Ubuntu 10.04 four years ago, and it was also great.

With Mint, I started with the Cinnamon interface, and then switched to Xfce for a while, but switched back to Cinnamon because Xfce lacked a couple of things I needed.

I haven't used Windows in 4 years, and I will never use Windows again. Linux does everything I need, and then some!

Is this group still active? What are your favorite envirnoments and distros? My favorite environment is KDE,though sometimes I switch to LXDE to squeeze off some performance.

I am using Ubuntu, though I am not switching because I have my hands full with college,so I don't have time to set up everything again and relearn new things.Once I have some time I will experiment with other distros, probably something serious like Debian unstable.

I'll admit, I was never really enthused by the MAL sync software I tried years ago (not sure if it was MAL Updater or something else; at any rate, it was an early version), primarily because it seemed to rely too much on video files having tags/other ID-related metadata. And I didn't like having it need to run in the background all the time, either.

But this looks much more to my liking, especially the Terminal stuffs. The idea of managing a local list is very nice.

Hi guys.

Frustrated by the lack of a good open alternative to MalUpdater (besides AniChou that sadly got stalled), some time ago I decided to start from scratch a script in Python for GNU/Linux to keep a local list and update a remote list on different sites, including MyAnimeList, and it's been evolving into a little application with a terminal-based and graphical interfaces.

It's experimental so if you have time give it a try. Any suggestions or help is more than welcome. Here's the public github repository:

Distrowatch popularity != real life popularity.

And you probably ment KWin not KDM at the end of your post.

aaaaand now something compleatly different: I hacked around with QML and Unity 2D on natty yesterday, now if I press the ubuntu logo on the panel (the BFB if you will) this welcomes me: http://droppy.site90.net/box/unity-dash-hekkelve.png
