Survive!! (All spots filled)

Information
Plot: In the year 2050 the world seems to have only become more corrupt despite technological advancements and the prevention of nuclear warhead use in WWIII which rages on today. Due to the war many new weapons reached development and businesses thrived off the misery of others, employing many at low wage and profiting as they sold their products to the government. One particular genius managed to build a corrupt corporation so powerful it can do almost anything it pleases while the government focuses on the war effort. An idea sprung from the mind of the corporation leader to abduct promising fighters and thinkers in the world to test a new product and simultaneously run an illegal gambling ring among some of the richest men in the world, watching as the abducted fought among each other for survival with only one victor, one survivor. Are his true motives simply more money, or is there something else? Regardless you were abducted unexpectedly, taken from your life without a trace due to all the connections held by the corporation. The only hope is to survive. (Be aware all weapons on hand were confiscated and such things will not be available until later. Also goddamnit I can't believe I didn't mention this. The new product being tested produces the powers so your characters shouldn't really be aware of them yet, sorry that I'm so late telling you.) Rules: 1. Only rp if you are prepared for your character to die. It's very very likely. 2. You may have a maximum of two character. It would be preferred if you create two character, both so you aren't invested in one too much and we have more players. 3. Don't godmod or have your character make movements beneficial to your other characters. Be mature. 4. If you are hindering the rp through such actions as godmodding, being unwilling to die, etc, your character will be taken as an NPC and you will be banned. Keep in mind the way each character would feel subjected to this situation and try not to focus only on fighting, but just as much surviving. Confrontations will surely occur, but not every meeting must become one, at least not until the end unless your character thinks he or she can put a hitch in the master plan.

Man, the nostalgia - Reminds me of how terrible I was at roleplaying before & how much I miss this RP lol

Discount66 | Jan 29, 2014 11:56 AM
Ah, I see.
Take your time.

Yzmael | Jan 29, 2014 10:34 AM
Nah, you didn't, I've been out for some time because it's been hard to find free time right now.

Discount66 | Jan 29, 2014 9:42 AM
I have never raised my hand and pointed the finger to you, Simple. I've been keeping quiet. I'm waiting for Yzmael.. or did I miss a post of his?

CrogLatte | Jan 28, 2014 11:11 PM
-Shrugs- Frankly I disagree, I think being active is the roleplayer's responsibility, and regardless of the quality of my posts I didn't evolve the plot or interact enough.

Beyond | Jan 28, 2014 10:24 PM
That's quite the opposite from my intentions Simple. The points you highlighted wouldn't drastically change the RP - No singular roleplayer can influence an RP as much as a GM can.

If I were to blame you, I'd blame you specifically as a GM rather than as a roleplayer. Your roleplaying posts had good chunks and quality - It's simply that we hardly had any updates going into the story. A GM moves the story on and keeps the overall RP active - The roleplayers are limited in the sense where they can only drive the story with their individual interactions rather than events on a large scale.

Not saying that Yz and I didn't have quite monstrous characters, but people were also roleplaying stupidly. Hardly anybody but myself (I'll be arrogant and say this directly) used something besides their own character and character abilities to accomplish anything. There was no setting. There was only 2 teams that were built in the RP. Nobody attempted to jump Keji with his/her team of members using their abilities simultaneously with the setting at their advantage. Heck, as you've said, hardly anybody was ballsy enough to initiate a fight - My alternate character, Ko being the only one to die out of all the characters (my original intentions was to keep her alive and get Keji killed sometime in mid-game, but that didn't go as planned).

Yeah, not too much we can do now. Somebody could maybe work on a new setting that's mildly more constraint (since heavy flexibility didn't work out here) and has a story monitored and updated constantly by GMs/Officers to break from the number one problem known as inactivity.

If you wanna blame me for this club slowly dying feel free to do so, but blame me as a roleplayer, not a GM.

I set up a plot that created an intense and abnormal situation, and I gave you a ton of freedom in how you would have your characters handle it. Sure, I didn't pave a road for you, but isn't it just boring if I do? I mean when I rp with my friend we manage to make a fun and involving plot with just two people, so I would think with more people you could create a nice amount of character growth, tension, backstabbing, whatever.

Now I don't disagree with Yzmael at all on his last statement, but after that there's plenty of options, the main issue is simply that everyone is hesitant to make a move, but trust me, I don't mind if you defy the director or fall in love or break the rules, whatever. Whatever you do will just make the director guy respond, for example I was thinking maybe two of the characters would go in the same room after the round ended, and my plan was to display their room on the television of the other contestants and force them to starve to death or kill the other. Fun, right?

In my opinion the main mistakes I made as a GM were allowing Beyond and Yzmael to become so overpowered and not keeping enough people active.

As a roleplayer I wasn't nearly active enough. I didn't help develop the plot at all by hunting with Ken or by trying to approach and befriend hunters as Kaido. So yeah, I'm not saying it isn't my fault at all, trust me, I do feel bad, but I think I did just fine creating the plot and managing it and I don't wanna be blamed for that >o>
