<strong>Note:</strong> At heart, this is still a dedicated Guilty Gear & BlazBlue club, the name change is just to generalise it. <img src="http://www.guiltygeards.com/i/arc-big.gif" border="0" />Arc System Works (アークシステムワークス, Āku Shisutemu Wākusu) is a video game developer based in Yokohama, Japan. It was founded by Minoru Kidooka in 1988. Arc System Works is best known for its arcade 2D fighter, Guilty Gear and its sequels. <span style="font-size: 200%;"><div style="text-align: center;"><strong>A</strong>ction <strong>R</strong>evolution <strong>C</strong>hallenge <strong>W</strong>orks<!--center--></div><!--size--></span> --- <img src="http://i56.tinypic.com/15gb1xx.png" border="0" /> Aksys Games was founded by Akibo Shieh in 2006 as a localization company specializing in Japanese-to-English translation of games and anime. Some of their clientele include Namco Bandai, XSEED, and Atlus USA. Aksys Games is best known for its involvement in the Guilty Gear series. The company's name is derived from Arc System Works with whom they have a partnership (<strong>A</strong>rc S<strong>ys</strong>tem Wor<strong>ks</strong>). Despite their similar names, neither company owns the other. Aksys Games publishes many games for Arc System Works in North America, and has even assisted the latter in releasing the Bit.Trip series in Japan. --- Zen United was founded in 2009 as a game publisher for a consortium of Japanese developers to release their games in Europe. So far, they have been working with Arc System Works to bring Guilty Gear and BlazBlue to Europe. --- <strong>Guilty Gear</strong> is a series of sprite-based fighting games by Arc System Works and designed by artist Daisuke Ishiwatari. It is popular with fans for its detailed anime-style graphics, original characters, hard rock/heavy metal soundtrack, unique gameplay, and its numerous references to rock and heavy metal music as well as its Gothic nature. Even though the release of it's first game, Guilty Gear: The Missing Link for the Playstation One back in 1998 received praise from some video game presses, it didn't make much of an impact in the video game market, becoming more of a cult hit. However, with the release of Guilty Gear X for the Dreamcast in 2000, the series began to amass fans from all over the globe, reaching it's peak with Guilty Gear XX and it's consecutive revisions until now. It was released on November 19, 2008 in Japan and November 20, 2008 in the United States. It is a spiritual successor to Guilty Gear.
