These games are the first to feature the long anticipated 5th generation of Pokemon. It is said that the games will be released in August 2010 for Japan while the release date for the U.S and Europe will probably be somewhere in 2011. These games will feature previous Pokemon including new ones and will also show a higher grade of 3D attributes never before seen in other Pokemon games, this includes a full 3D city, Pokemon center, and bridges.
Pokemon: Black & White are to be compatible to the previous games; Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver. With this, some events will be unlocked on Black & White through trading certain Pokemon; one of the events known in B&W is the unlocking of a Monster Fox Pokemon named Zoroark.

The official artwork and names of both the male and female characters are unknown. There are however many fan art pictures of the two all around the web. The creators references to the characters are from the Pre-Released photos of the game sprites.

Isshu Region
- Pokemon B&W takes place in Isshu, a new Region far away from Sinnoh, Jhoto, Kanto and Hoenn. The only way to access the island if from boat or plane. Isshu is also far more industrialised then previous regions and is vastly populated.
Hiun City
- The first major city in B&W is a thriving metropolis that borders the sea. Hiun is reported to be much larger then previous cities seen in the older Pokemon games. Hiun features the newer 3D installments with a wide range of angles that show the city from a wide range.
- There are also markets, alleys between sky scrapers, a harbor with many boats that is connected to other areas of the region through a bride called the Sky Arrow Bridge.
Home Town
- The name of the town is unknown but the town appears to be similar to previous towns in the other games.
Town
- There is another town that has been shown in photos, it appears that the town has stylised buildings and a train(tram line) that probably goes through the town and into the entrance.
City
- Another city is shown with the same industrialized look as Hiun except it seems to have a stream running through it.
Factory
- Somewhere in the Isshu Region is a run-down factory with oil drums and traffic cones scattered around it. The factory is also missing a roof.
Forest
- Isshu, like many other regions has a forest but unlike other forests in previous games numerous broken trees and logs are used to pass up and down cliffs.
Cave
- There is a cave with a unique electromagnetic properties inside it. The cave features an electric field around some rocks and even some rocks that are floating in the air. It is unknown is Pokemon dwell in this area.
