Ao no Exorcist

Humans and demons are two sides of the same coin, as are Assiah and Gehenna, their respective worlds. The only way to travel between the realms is by the means of possession, like in ghost stories. However, Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, cannot find a suitable host to possess and therefore, remains imprisoned in his world. In a desperate attempt to conquer Assiah, he sends his son instead, intending for him to eventually grow into a vessel capable of possession by the demon king.

Ao no Exorcist follows Rin Okumura who appears to be an ordinary, somewhat troublesome teenager—that is until one day he is ambushed by demons. His world turns upside down when he discovers that he is in fact the very son of Satan and that his demon father wishes for him to return so they can conquer Assiah together. Not wanting to join the king of Gehenna, Rin decides to begin training to become an exorcist so that he can fight to defend Assiah alongside his brother Yukio.

Well this is a very entertaining Shonen. The story is fun, the character designs are even more fun, they are kawaii and also cool. The visuals in this show are some of the best in my opinion. It really embodies Christian mythos in such a palatable and funny fashion. The best thing about it is that it's very childish as it reminded me shows like Idaten jump and Beyblade which brings a nostalgic vibe. Despite all that the show does follow a linear storytelling and has prominent aspects of modern Shonen. Another favorite of mine is the goofy and spooky elements of the show and ... also the fact that none of the characters are annoying and some like Mephisto even quote Nitzche sometimes!

Overall if you wanna watch something fun, easygoing yet having battles which is just entertaining to watch without putting too much brain in it, I think this show is for you. A plus point is new seasons are dropping every year so you can catch up to the story pretty easily.

Note: not the entirety of season 1 is canon so you can skip from about ep -16 to the end.

Mixed Feelings

It starts off pretty well but it really is kind of tame when all is said and done. I enjoyed it but it was boring and the last couple episodes are left field and I found it really silly, although in my head Im gearing to forget the Anime arc moving forward. Its charming and I definitely want to continue with Season 2 and 3, so we'll see where it goes. The movie was good though it was fun although I know 16-25 are not canon it was aight. I like Rin he's a stereotypical main character but Yukio is so much cooler in my ... eyes. Its a toss up you may enjoy it but I know many are going to be disappointed in the first season

Blue exorcist was anime that has a great premise that I really like, 2 sons with the mother of a human and a father of Satan himself. With high expectations of this being as great as the manga but I guess the studio had other plans and decided to go their own route an try making it an anime ending. The characters were really bland and I didn't really came to like any of them but the only on i think had to most personality was rin and i think he is annoying. The animation style was really good for its time but ... the song choices wasn't the best. I enjoyed it till its second course, and in all honestly I don't remember any part of this show that i enjoyed to make this redeemable besides the comedy being involved here and there which i didnt enjoy too much but it was still ok, so what I rate this show is what I honestly believe it deserves.
