Both are mecha anime that focus on humanity being threatened by an alien species, the protagonist has a special condition, and a good amount of both shows are set on space stations. They also both aired on Adult Swim at around the same time. There are a few differences - for one thing, Blue Gender has less CGI. Also, Blue Gender finished it's run in Japan, whereas Pilot Candidate did not.

Similar background, almost identical in terms of atmosphere and plot. If you liked one you'll most surely like the other.

Special persons controlling special humanoid looking devices (i.e Robots ^_^ ) for protecting something important. Similar plot and atmosphere, altho Fafner has a much darker atmosphere than Candidate for Goddess

Goddess remided me very much of NGE due to the facts tha A: there are choosen pilots for robots(or whatever they are -.-') B: The synchronisation with these robots and finally C: the fight against some kind of aliens that want to destroy the earth. it also gives the same feeling of mystyirous that Evangelion does.

Both shows involve students attending an academy in space. The students are training to protect humanity while working hard to reach their goals.
